Zymol middle of the road? I don't use it, but it isn't middle of the road. That stuff costs tons! It has as much of a relgious following as Zaino.

FWIW, I use the Griots stuff.

I'm just relaying info abut Zymol, as I've never used it. The Guru Reports rated the the Zymol Concours stuff at $180.00 per 8oz. paste as "Did not seem to perfom any better than its less expensive counterparts." 1.87 out of 4...

Just 'because its expensive, doesn't mean....

Bill, I used Z8 for the first time a couple of days ago and the stuff is unbelievable! Now, although I have and normally use the whole Zaino product line, I haven't Zaino'd the Prius yet because I got the Toyogard and it already looks very good. I can tell you however, that Z8 works very well with whatever the Toyogard finish consists of. The finish is so slick you can't believe it. It feels like it was claybarred. The Z8 is worth every cent!

    Regards,
    Chuck Lane

I ordered my prius without toyoguard, took the money and spent some of it on zaino kit and z-8. I claybarred and zaino'd the jeep before I sold it, but just with z-5 and z-2 and z-6. Claybarring really cleaned up the car and it looked really nice (green jeep). I plan on doing a polish on the prius next weekend when I get it. My car is seaside, so I'm interested in how zaino is going to look on the blue.....

    [font=Comic Sans MS:7f53ab289b]Hey, Brad!

I bought directly from Zaino.com, as close as the UPS truck in my driveway... I got the full kit (without the leather stuff) since I've never used Zaino before. The raves on this site convinced me. That, and I've never had a car I love as much as my Silver Cloud and wanted to polish like this. :)

I was looking at the Zaino site and saw the Z-8 which I hadn't seen before. I'll have to order some.

I just finished Zaino'ing the new Prius.

Washed with Dawn, clay-barred the car, washed with Z-7. Then polished with Z-5 and glossed with Z-6, then polished with Z-2 and glossed with Z-8.

I think it could probably use another coat but it looks damn good, and I should be getting back to work instead of polishing the new car.

I am attempting to attach 3 photos. First one (or maybe its the last one) is a *before* shot fresh off of dealers lot, the other 2 are post Zaino.

First time attempting to upload photos, hope this works...

You really need to see the product on a dark color, or red to see the full effect. Here are a couple pics from zainobros.com. The cars look like they were just dipped in paint.

Hmmmm. Our Zaino just came in today. I'm not sure I want to wait until the Meguiar's wears off...

Especially on a black car... I love shiny black cars. Mmm shiny!

Yep. Lots of coats and Black is undeniably the best way to show this stuff off.

Just 8 (or 18 ) more coats to go for me.... I have Zaino-envy now....

Thanks for the photos, bigdaddy. I also have a tideland.

Has anyone tried P21S? I get a sense (from various forum posts) that it gives a "deeper" look, while Zaino has more gloss and lasts longer. My thought is that "glossier" might look better on the tideland. I want to do something soon since my car is nearly 3 months old.

I also note that we Prius owners seem to like newer technology. Zaino is new technology in the world of car polish/wax.

Yes, definately. ZFX mixes with the Z-2 and Z-5 to make them dry faster, at a minimum. It's also fun mixing them cause you feel like a mad scientist when you do.

Personally, I went with Z1 because after washing and drying I don't have the energy to do more than 1 coat in a day. Also, the ZFX is $20 and only has a shelf life of 18 months, I would never use it all.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe you'll notice the difference on Tideland. I don't think it's dark enough. What you will notice is that P21S, a carnuba wax, needs to be applied about 4x as often as Zaino.
