Ah, my nametag doesn't have a GM or Chevy on it, so I can't answer that question...

However, I'm fairly sure if I had one, it wouldn't pull a Prius on me and die twice in the first 500 miles. But I'm not into SUVs :)

You didn't see all of those Toyota commercials this summer that had little gas cans with only the highway MPG displayed for each of their cars? Oh, except the Prius which they only showed the 60mpg city rating (even though 2008 models were already on the lots). It was the same series of commercials that had the nerve to say "the fuel efficient Sequoia" when right next to the car they had a gas can showing it got 17mpg Highway.

There is virtually no performance improvement too.

    Gas-only Yukon makes 320 hp / 340 lbs-ft torque.

    Yukon hybrid makes 332 hp / 367 lbs-ft torque.

The difference is 12 hp / 27 lbs-ft torque. Considering the extra weight of the Yukon hybrid, there will be virtually no difference in performance. There are two 60kW electric motors in the 2-Mode transmission. What are they doing with the 300V HV pack? Virtually nothing.... During towing, 2-Mode transmission also lock out both electric motors and use the mechanical gears. Again the two 60kW motor and 300V pack are useless there.

The only time I see the electric motor #1 being useful is during low speed. Electric motor #2 came in use during highway passing and it does not seem to do much either (by looking at peak hp). It seems there are two bad modes crippling the 6.0L V8 engine. I want to see the 30-50 mph acceleration test comparison with the gas-only and hybrid version.

    Or... you are incorrect. :)

I seem to recall something like a EV mode that goes up to 32mph... could that be using the 300V HV pack... I would have to guess so, right?

    Edited to prevent nitpicking:

My statement was for during the towing and ability to reach higher performance. You cut it off in your quote and claim I am incorrect. Did you even read the second paragraph?

In summary for the 2-Mode, the benefit that electric motors and battery pack provide is only to increase city MPG.

HSD use it's electric motors and HV battery in most diriving situations to fully extend enabling a synergy between ICE and electric for power, emission, and consumption.

Yeah, I guess you just worded things poorly... I would have said "what are the 2 electric motors during towing", not "what are the 2 electric motors doing. during towing...blah blah blah".

Yeah I was wondering about that. That "Yes" ad in california said 60mpg.. what gives?

I haven't seen a Canadian ad for the Prius in ages (did we even have one?) so I can't comment on what they're saying here.
