The only paid mod I've done is having my windows tinted. 35 in the front, 5 in that back with the hatch strip re-tinted to match. It's a must in Phoenix!

I'm thinking about a DICE iPod unit next :)

    Hi Huntceet,

Hobbit is probably busy with something. He has a button which turns all the brakes lights on, indepedant of pressing the brake peddle. He uses it to communicate with tailgaiting well dressed drivers in SUVs, apparently.

1.) Tinted Windows (I used to do this for a living so, naturally, it was the very first thing I did.) 20% rear, 35% fronts - illegal in CA, but it sure feels much better.

2.) Clazzio Leather seat covers - a must with two toddlers.

    3.) KURT Hitch receiver

    4.) Stiffening plate

5.) IPOD integration unit (base model)

Re: Your TOP 5 FAVORITE Mods!

I will list my mods by difficulty of install:

    1. Sheepskin seat covers - took 5 minutes to install and keep my bottom warm in winter. Super Easy.

    2. Scangauge mounted above steering column - took 10 minutes to route the cable to OBD port and mount. Great gadget that coaches me.

    3. autodim rearview mirror - mounted in 15 minutes thanks to info I found on this site.

    4. stiffening plate - took 15 minutes. Took longer to find the right socket allen than to install.

    5. engine block heater - 1 hour of misery. Absolutely no fun to install. Made possible by info I found on this site. Will be worth it in Connecticut winter.

Pulling up next to a Hummer or Ford Expedition at the gas pump -- priceless...

Re: Your TOP 5 FAVORITE Mods!

I realize this is an old post, but could you or someone else tell me where I could find the custom-color match leather steering wheel cover? And is it just a slip-on? Are those found on the web or do you need to find a local shop?

    EDIT: Never mind --> Google

About the sunroof mod -- I had a dealer-installed sunroof added to my Altima (which amounts to an aftermarket since they contract it out), and I'm disappointed with the noise. I've done a little research on the 'net and found that a lot of people have complained about the same thing concerning their sunroofs -- both factory and aftermarket, both expensive and inexpensive cars. But I've also been in cars where the sunroof is very quiet. So -- it almost seems as if it's hit-or-miss. Either you get a good, quiet installation or you don't. Something to think about. I'm glad that yours turned out to be good though.

I just got my 2009 Prius pkg #6 on Monday while I was at work. I had an issue where my Smart key didn't work properly from the get go tried it with in 10 minutes of my car being delivered. I took it the dealership Tuesday morning to have it checked out and they had to do some work to get it working. Had my my satellite radio activated on my satellite ready system. I asked if while they were working on the satellite situation if they could install the harness for the Viastech MultimedialinQ and they said no problem. I called this morning and ask if it was going to void my warrenty if it were installed and was told that it shouldn't be a problem. Got the call this evening saying that my stellite radio is installed and that the harness for my MultimedialinQ was installed and all is working however if I plug my Multimedialinq in and "something blows" it won't be covered under warranty. Why they didn't tell me that this morning when I specifically ask I don't understand and why if that was the case they did not call and tell me before they went ahead and intalled it I don't understand. Now I'm afraid to hook it up and they ran the cable to the floor instaed of the glove box where I asked that it be put so it sets us for accidental situations it my passenger puts their foot on the cable. Is everyone at these dealerships this way???? It took me almost 7 months to get my car I haven't had it in my actual
possession for 48hrs and not my warrenty is no good. I know everything that goes wrong will be the fault of the harness I had the dealership install and they have it documented because they put it on for me. Should I pay to have them take it back off???????????
