It sounds like you are leaving your light switch in the ON position all the time?

If you are, then you should get in the habit of turning them off, especially before you start the car up. Even with the relay harness, the ballasts may not be getting reliable power immediately during startup. If you wait a few seconds before turning on your HIDs it makes a huge difference how many amps are available to the ballasts to ignite the HID arcs.

Ok, i switched the ballast now I'll wait and see what happens.. Thanks for all of the replies. And if I'll have to switch them always off and on all the time that would really suck :(

There are many ECU computers in the car that control many critical functions. Many of them initialize at startup.

Your little 12v auxiliary battery provides 12.x volts of power. Once your traction battery is online, the voltage available is regulated to about 14.4v, a big difference.

I'd rather fire up my HIDs after startup, when lots of clean, regulated power is available, than have everything fighting for power in that split second when everything is initializing and the traction battery and inverter are being switched online.

Switched the ballasts and now the problem switched to the other side. So it looks like it is a ballast problem. Contacted the sales people of the HID kit.
