I've had my c for 3 months now and am not all that impressed with. Siriusxm., so I'm not liklely to keep the service at the price offered. If I were the 3-4 marketing calls I receive from them daily and the weekly mailing from them would also dissuade me from doing so.

I let mine expire, then I called back and got a deal for $27 w/ tax for 6 months. That shouldn't be a problem. Tell them not to put you on automatic renewal. They will try and renew you at the going rate ($15/month). You want to be put on automatic deactivation. Just remember to call before it expires and negotiate a new deal. Otherwise, they will try and charge you a $15 reactivation fee.

They will try to entice you with 2 months free, but just stick to your guns!

They must have a bad track record with the automatic renewals if they have it on a survey I received:

Which of the following best describes the reason you last contacted Listener Care on 07/31/2012.
To activate a new radio purchased at a retailer or online
To discuss the satellite radio service in the car I recently purchased
To subscribe for paid service for the radio that came installed in my car
To get a radio rehit/ refresh of my satellite signal
    To renew my service
To discuss questions about the automatic renewal of my service
To dispute the automatic renewal of my service
To resolve a billing issue other than automatic renewal of my service
To cancel service on one or more radios
To discuss or make a payment
To understand charges on my credit card
To discuss price and/or plan options and changes
    To obtain/change general account information
To discuss online management of my account
    To discuss programming changes
    To discuss online/mobile streaming
    To discuss radio warranty issues
    To replace hardware
    To resolve a reception issue
To transfer service from one radio to another
    Other (Specify)

I just renewed for 6 months, taxes and royalty fee made it $35.09. Pretty good as I use it almost 2 hrs a day on my commute.

I'm leaning towards just not paying the bill and letting them disconnect me. At that time I expect they may send me a better offer by mail. Sirius XM current prevailing rate (after my trial was over) is a little over $90 for six months. That is no bargain. I didn't give them my credit card number so they are sending me bills.

I have been informed that Sirus/XM no longer offers a lifetime subscription. I'd probably take that if available, rather than deal with automatic renewals at the prevailing rate, and their not accepting cancellations by mail or EMail. They want me to call and go through their salesperson just to cancel.

I had planned to sign-up for the "A La Carte" package - 50 channels of your choice for $7.99 per month but now I think I better shop around.
