Bummer, this hasn't been my experience at all with my C. My car can get too hot inside Try some Rain-X on he windows it may help.
Windows are not the problem, I too use rain-x on the side windows. It's the headlights and tail light lenses that frost.
I had a 1998 Saab 900 SE and I could never get the front windshield to completely defrost and stay defrosted and the heater for the front floor was pathetic. However I dearly loved that car until some nasty rodents chewed off some wires while we were in Guatemala one winter and the car never ran right after being repaired. Sent engine management module to Waycross GA (Saab USA Headquarters) twice to be reprogrammed but the car would not start if the temp dropped below 30 degrees and it gets -40 here in the winter. Moved on to Passat 4 Motion wagon and a Jetta Diesel Sportwagon. I would have loved to had a Saab 93 Combi.
