Exactly....being able to read a book or two and passing an exam isn't wisdom, more like regurgitation of information.

I had tons of GI Bill money banked up from my 23-years of service (they give you extra for serving in combat zones and I had plenty). Anyway, I had already earned my Master's in Computer Science before I retired but, still, had a large amount leftover. So I enrolled in a PhD program at a local University and I was a year into the 3-year program, with a 4.0 GPA but decided to quit. Even though it was an engineering program, all of the professors, except for one, were life-long academic folks who had never held a real engineering job on the outside. This was about 15-years ago and we were taught the future of IT in businesses will be meetings using holograms and even future bands won't be live, they'll also be using holograms so lifelike you can't tell if it's real or not. Today, we see how that was a bunch of crap....the vast majority of IT budgets today are on cybersecurity and trying to prevent the bad apples from taking over your business for ransom which is happening every day. So I had to quit my PhD and didn't look back....let Uncle Sam have the rest of my GI Bill. (No, I wasn't able to give anything to my kids but some of the newer ones do allow that, which is great.)

I missed the part where I didn't acknowledge that? I am talking about the people who supported them obviously. They are acting like the Right did in 2020.

 

To call them Patriots is sacrilegious. I also never mentioned they didn't concede. When it was literally a mandate and a landslide by the American People they were forced to. There's nothing Patriotic about almost starting WW3 or letting genocide continue for over a year in Palestine or devaluing the Dollar based on terrible economic policies, or letting millions of undocumented aliens across our borders...I could go on and on. They belong in Federal Pen.

 

It was a landslide for the Dems in 2020, and Trump was calling it cheating. He was saying that before the vote started.

 

What are you referring to? I'm guessing you mean helping the Ukrainians defend themselves. Was Neville Chamberlain able to prevent WWII by appeasing Hitler? If I've guessed incorrectly, please clarify.

I believe most reasonable people would agree that Israel has not done enough to prevent the suffering of Palestinian civilians, but would not go as far as to call it genocide, which is exactly the position Biden/Harris have taken since the beginning of the war. I believe the Administration would have put further conditions on supplying weapons to Israel, but they knew that the backlash from pro-Israel politicians in their own party and almost all of the Republicans would be unsurvivable. Now Trump has appointed an ambassador to Israel (Mike Huckabee) who has stated he does not believe there is such a thing as a Palestinian. Does this sound like someone who will look out for the Palestinian's best interests?

Perhaps you should compare the strength of the US economy to that of other advanced nations. In my 401k, I own stocks of both US companies and those based in other countries and I can tell you for a fact that the USD value of appreciation in the US stocks has greatly exceeded the USD appreciation of those based in the foreign countries over the past 4 years. Why else would there be so many people trying to cross the border into the US? And speaking of that, Trump was "lucky" in the way that he totally mismanaged the pandemic (disbanding the study group that Obama had put together after the Ebola scare, and denying that COVID was even a thing) in that he was able to enact Title 42 to deny entrance to millions of undocumented persons in his last years in office. Biden even extended that excuse for keeping people out a little longer than was probably warranted, but he was unable to overcome the constant misinformation being spouted by Governors DeSantis, Abbott and Ducey that the borders are fully open and the Administration would welcome all comers. That was all the coyotes needed to hear to convince desperate people to invest their life savings in making the trip. Absolutely despicable behavior on the part of both the governors and the human traffickers, for which they will never be held to account. Now one can already predict how the new Trump Administration will handle the "problem". More children in cages separated from their parents. There is no greater form of torture than that, given that many of the undocumented are coming to provide a better future for their children. Truly a "crime against humanity" that will never be prosecuted.

 

And the rest of the country (non Trmp supporters as well, many of them including myself) who agreed were also delusional by your logic or just suffering from some strange version of stockholm syndrome or something? Like Trmp had this magical power to convince everyone without any physical proof at all something was happening that shouldn't be? That sounds like what the young kids call "Cope".

No I mean Blinken and U.N. officials trying to put western missile sites in there and have them join NATO when those terms were not something Russia wanted in their backyard. Your lack of historical education on geopolitical issues and world history is showing. The west has wanted to destroy Russia since right after WW2 and has been creeping closer and closer. Look at the NATO boundaries between the 60's and the early 2000's alone. Also, China/Taiwan conflict...also Middle East that's 1000% more unstable since Trump left office. Facts you can't deny.

As of Nov 5th, there are 45,000 confirmed civilian deaths alone, mostly women and babies. You're a sick person if you want to split hairs and say 6 million have to die before we call it a genocide. Thanks for pointing out Trmp's pick for ambassador to Israel, good thing I don't support either of them and think this support is a horrible thing and we WILL be at war with Iran in 2025 at some point because of this. To your point AIPAC has their slimy tentacles too deep in our government, and yes I am bitter that my country was taken over by them.

I'll take issue with some of these statements. Your arguments against some of my other points are a little more debatable.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that any Western nation wanted to put missile sites in Ukraine, and the NATO nations have been very specific about the whole set of conditions that any nation who wants to join must meet first. They have made very clear that Ukraine has not yet met those conditions and is not currently eligible for NATO membership. Putin only came up with that excuse for the invasion when he realized people weren't buying the idea that Ukraine is full of Nazis.

I doubt that anyone wanted to destroy Russia as a nation, only to stop the spread of Communism. When it appeared that Russia was on the verge of becoming a democracy, they were welcomed into the fold of international decision-making bodies, even to the point where there was consideration to inviting them to apply for NATO membership. Unfortunately, that didn't last once it became clear that Russia was becoming an oligarchy, which Putin has encouraged.

Certainly the Middle East has become more unstable since Trump left office, but that is mainly due to the incompetence and outright corruption of his buddy, Netanyahu. It was a fantasy to believe that the Arab nations would ever engage in full diplomacy as long as the needs of the Palestinians were unaddressed, a fact that Trump and his son-in-law conveniently ignored. Now Netanyahu will prolong these wars with Israel's neighbors as long as he can to avoid any kind of reckoning, and Trump and his Zionist-Evangelical supporters will be all-in, the better to bring about Armageddon as soon as possible so they can all be raptured.

 

I wish we could call a snap election UK style on keeping or deleting this thread…

There's loads of proof of Ukrainian military battalions wearing identifying flags, patches, arm salutes with common Nazi/German/WW2 referencing and paying homage and respect to the Nazi Party. You can't gaslight anyone here reading this that they weren't..very easy to search and find this evidence online.
