Ok, how about some contrary opinions on leather.. 1. Too expensive 2. Too hot in the summer 3. Seems silly in a economy car like the Prius Pros for fabric: 1. Easy to cover and clean (if you use the right stuff) 2. You can use the money you save on other more valuable options or gas.....
I disagree that the Prius is an economy car. It has great fuel economy, but when I think "economy car", I don't think "high tech and gadget-laden".
1. To expensive-Ok I will give that one to you, mine cost 1429.00 extra. 2. Hot in summer-nope-air conditioner. 3. $25,000-$30,000 is not economy car. Pros 1. Yes it can be cleaned but what lurks under top layer of fabric? 2. Ok,you can have that one.Just that I spent the money on the "more valuable" option-LEATHER!!! Bottom Line-to each his/her own.
The prius is hardly and economy car at anywhere from 22k to 30k depending on options.. and I wish we had gotten leather just to make if feel a bit more luxurious.. I really don't like the cloth they used on the 06...
I had leather in the car I traded in (I didn't choose to have this option or the car) and consciously decided against leather due to my political beliefs etc. BUT aside from that I hate how skin sticks to leather when you are wearing shorts! haha. I don't typically have sweating issues but major sweat back in my old car in Texas summers! I will say though that majorly easy to clean if you keep the leather oiled etc so it doesn't crack. If I had kids I would probably end up hating the fabric due to stains. I will have to find some great ways to protect my Prius's interior. Definitely going to get some all weather floorpads on the first day!
