Who's the fairest of them all? (The 2010 Prius, Insight and Fusion Hybrid together)

Don't knock that Honda Insight. It is a great grocery getter. I thought the fit and finish was excellent. The drivers seat adjusted all right but the passenger seat sat to high for me. The front window seemed to low. It was not high enough. I thought visibility was a bit restricted.

The Prius is quieter, bigger, and has a roomier back seat.

I sure am glad to see other automaker coming out with their hybrids. In my opinion, all family sedans should be hybrid.

I admit I've never driven the Prius more than 5 hours straight, but the seat worked fine for me that day (of a 10 hour trip, twice in 4 days). Love the size of the cabin and that after 15K miles, I have no rattles. Can't say that for my 57 Ford Country Sedan wagon, 68 Pontiac Catalina, 70 Pontiac Bonneville, 77 Pontiac Bonneville, 81 Pontiac Grand Prix, 89 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer, 90 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, or my 01 Chevy Blazer LT. Only the Caddy could compare with the Prius for seat comfort. I miss my leather seats, but looks like that could be solved by a new Prius. I miss my power seat but maybe one day...

But it is unfortunate that the seat isn't more adjustable since every body is different.

But most of all, I love my 54 mpg this last Saturday on a 200 mile trip into the mountains much of it going 70-72 mph. I can afford to go places even when gas hits $4 or $5 a gallon here in the next year or two.

 

I think the lines on the Insight interior are goofey looking and just don't flow well. Can't say much about the exterior since it looks alot like the Prius from the side. I like the new Prius exterior looks. The Fusion is nice and I could have gotten it discounted and with a tax credit making it equal in price to the Prius I wanted. It all boiled down to a couple of things:

1) If I was going to get a first year model, I'd take my chances with Toyota.

2) The 50 mpg mark sounded too irrestable. I just had to know if I could hit it. Had it been 49 mpg, I may have very well went with the Fusion since it looks like a conventional car and no sterotype is associated with it. (I don't drive a hybrid simply to be different)

All three have their charm. It's good that many of our Youth (and you frugal ones too) will be saving gas in a Honda they can afford. (I just can't get past the ugly interior, which is what you see 100% of the time as a driver). I like the Prius for its functionality, FE and now, even good looks. The Ford will appeal to mainstream buyers so around 25,000 people this year will be getting better FE in a comfortable car in a name they feel good about. All winners in their own segments.

I'm still amused by how Honda totally copied the Ford "wall-o-chrome"
front end, and how the nose of the Prius [and many other Toyotas]
looks very Honda-like from a couple of years ago, while of course the
back of the Insight looks like a squashed Prius. Ford desperately
needs to make a Fusion hatchback. Oh, and that one needs more
air in its tires...

The Honda Fit comes close to everything anyone would ever want in a car. I heard Honda is going to have IMA in that car by this fall. That little car is huge on the inside. I looked at it in detail inside and out. It's a hugely popular car and will be even more exciting when it can get 50 miles to the gallon.

I just wished our batteries lasted longer in the Prius. They do charge quickly. Batteries will come down in price and be made to last longer. I might add more batteries when that happens.

The advantage the Prius has is its size!

was that over by the big park with the Vancouver Aquarium? I go up to Vancouver once a year on my way to visit my sister in WA. and Canada has the best candy bars... So just about once a year I go to the Aquarium or the suspension bridge if I am bringing a friend to B.C. for the first time.

This year I am hoping to visit with Hyo Silver but it will likely be snowing when I get up there. Maybe we can have a B.C. Prius meet this winter at a warm coffee shop!

 

I love that park. Except that they always required Canadian money for the parking tickets.

My lil 2005 does great in the snow so your 2010 should be evern better. So no excuses for not attending a Prius meet. Hyo Silver will put it together for all of us.

Have you ever thought about trying AutoSocks? I have a set but I have not had to use them yet. I keep them in the hatch just ion case.
