I have been thinking about the window visors to help with the heat buildup in an open parking lot at work. A Prius exactly like mine passed with the window visors and they really looked nice, like they came with the car.

After searching and reading this thread I just ordered the Weathertech with dark tint.

Thanks for the input. I love this site!

My Weathertech visors came in today. The front windows were straightforward and slipped right in. I was not real sure about how the clips fit in the weatherstripping for the rear windows so went to their website and watched an installation video. Crystal clear in the video.

I put them in tonight. They look like original equipment. I am really satisfied with the way they look.

Driving to dinner it appeared that some of the wind noise was actually diminished. I will be able to tell for sure on the highway tomorrow on the way to work..

As to the wind noise, what I meant to say was that the wind noise that I normally heard before installing the visors, appeared to be diminished, meaning quieter.

I will tell for sure tomorrow on the drive to work.

Have you had any issues with them squeaking or being too much in the way that the window rolls right back down once it touches the visor?

I'm having these problems on and off...have been in touch with weathertech but no full resolution yet.

The instructions tell you to leave the window up for at least 12 hours before trying the Auto up feature. When I was trying to raise the driver's window manually last night right after installing, I raised the switch a little too high and it went to Auto. The window hit the visor and immediately reversed.

I tried the windows this morning after sitting overnight and they all went back up in Auto with no problem. I will have to wait and see if I have any issues in the future.

As for squeaks, I have not heard any squeaks.

Pluses and minuses of the stick on visors

    Once installed, you're done
    No leaks
One touch and the window closes, you don't have to make three tries
The window channel isn't stretched, causing wind noise and vibrating glass noises

Pluses and minuses of in Chanel visors

    Once installed, it begins;)
    Leaks
Three or four tries to close the window
Stretched window Chanel, now the glass vibrates and there's increased wind noise

Interesting reply. I have actually experienced a decrease in wind noise since the visor has created a tighter fit of the window in the channel. Also the visor deflects air flow away from the top weatherstripping.

Stretched windown channel? The channel is rubber weatherstripping and compresses on the inside of the glass ;)

We had an afternoon thunder shower at work yesterday with driven rain at about 45 degrees. I had the front windows slightly opened. Completely dry inside.

Of course mine are new and time will be the judge.

Is this the stick on ones? If yes, then I got the same. However, I noticed that they could be made of a clearer acrylic material. As it is, they are kind of rough on the inside which makes it hard to see through them.

Yup. Yeah I agree they could be clearer but I have noticed no real loss in visibility due to them. Just ordered a set for my wife's 11 Rav4 and 07 Corolla for $22 shipped each set hahahhah

So are the stick on ones from AVS worth it? Hoping for something that looks OEM and is somewhat quality. Would prefer the easy install of the stick ons, but would go the channel route if necessary.

The Weathertech are in-channel and amazingly easy to install. They have a video specifically for the Prius. Watch the 5-minute video and the install is a piece of cake.

    They really look OEM.

Not that you could measure, it's insignificant.
