Where do folks go to have the tail lights tinted? Doesn't seem like window tint ships around here do that. And believe me, black is the most difficult color to keep clean.
Good luck finding someone to do it.... you will probably have to attempt it yourself, buy smoked replacement tail lights or try the spray that you can do.
I did find a vinyl wrap and window tint shop that can do it for $120. But they are like an hour away. Maybe I'll keep looking.
One thing you need to consider about tinting your tail lights is visibility. It can be a liability in the increased probability of a rear end collision. If someone were to run into you, they would have a claim of no fault due to your tail lights being obscured. In many states it is against the law for just that reason. A safer option would be to install some after market lights as shown.
I would only tint them a light smoke, not something the average person would even notice. Certainly, not blacking them out.
yeah i would only do the same.. like 50 or 70% tint on them.. just enough to help mask the chrome... i might buy some tint myself and try it... the hardest part will be the wrapping around the side, nothing a heat gun cant do
Now I'm sorta having second thoughts. I spoke to another tint shop who can do this for me, but he said that normally if you are rear ended, it's automatically other person's fault. But, he has heard of some cases where if you have tinted tail lights, it can be your fault since the person could potentially claim the tail lights were not legal and they didn't seem them, or the cop filing the accident reports notes this in the report. Then insurance may consider your at fault, etc. Maybe I'm worrying to much?
just don't go with dark tint.. keep it real light, like i said 50 -70% and there really shouldn't be any viability problems.
I got also with the solar roof.. In fact I should choose another color since the solar is almost hidden with this color, and the other day I parked my blizzard pearl with my Prius outside the garage, and at 10am you can feel which one get hotter to the touch, just because the color.
Like that rim stripe, you do it?Was thinkin about doin my calipers blue,I've black plasti-dipped the emblems, and was wondering if anyone has touch up paint for this gray,Duplo doesn't make it,at least I can't find it. thanks, steve
Yep, Pep Boys sells the 3M product in red, yellow and blue. A steady hand and clean wheel to begin with sure helps with the process!
Rockin' the Winter Gray PiP with lower-rocker moldings. The overall two-tone monochrome look is sweet.
I found a lens tint spray at a popular hardware store. It's really easy to do; make recommend not painting over your reverse light section or you won't see when backing up @ night too well.
Finally got my '12 Pkg 4, 10800mi.... Much more power than my previous 06. Love the roof and the HUD. Dont really care for the wheels...
I just got a 2013 Winter Gray Prius Three. The tinted windows look great! hmm, I know what Santa is getting me
