White prius+bisque interior,always dirty...sucks!!!

I recently cleaned the mats and upholstery in my wife's 05 Prius. You might consider using the Folex cleaner found at Lowe's or Home Depot to remove interior grime and spots. My wife's car had multiple nasty spots/stains on the bisque/tan interior and her gray mats were terrible. I used the Folex and Scotch Gard Oxy as a side-by-side comparison to clean the car mats. See pics...Folex did a better job and was outstanding in removing interior upholstery spots....

 

Outside of silver or gold, white is by far the easiest color to keep clean. Where do you drive? Does it rain every day?

The solution to keeping the interior clean is to...clean it. Vacuum it regularly, clean off marks and smudges. If you stay on top of it it won't become a big problem. Its like anything else light colored...carpet...paint...clothing...whatever. It requires more care.

 

I routinely drive down dirt and rock roads, kick up billowing clouds of dust, etc. Heck, I live in the country. And yet my white Prius remains, to the casual observer, pretty clean most of the time. I need to wash it off before church each week, but that's hardly a problem.

My interior is gray, but again is not nasty. The upholstery is holding up beautifully, and the floormats stay clean with the occasional shot of Resolve and an enzyme cleaner.

If you're not willing to invest at least a minimal amount of time keeping your car clean, it will look like crap. Doesn't matter if it's white, bisque, black, or even dirt-brown...it'll look awful.

Any time I've had a white car, it's always looked passably clean...and with extremely minimal effort.

 

How is a white Prius more or less easier to keep clean than any other white vehicle?

 

Are you talking about the Super White on the Gen II Prius, or the Blizzard Pearl on the Gen III Prius?

If it's the Super White (or any other solid white), that's just about the easiest color to keep clean looking -- the whiteness just barrels its way through surface dirt.

If it's the Blizzard Pearl, I absolutely agree ... it can get pretty dirty pretty fast. Some might even say that, depending on the light, Blizzard Pearl looks a little dirty even when it's clean.

But yeah, the bisque interior -- even if you have leather -- gets dirty looking quickly and often permanently.

 

I got the leather that is beige with light green exterior and no matter what I do or use or try to seal the leather with --one step from my dog's paws and it is GROSS. I have to wipe it down constantly and it especially the center box between driver and passenger get so gross. Is there anything that works to clean and seal the leather interior???

 

You can't protect something from getting dirty when it consistently is being contacted by something dirty...your Dog's paws. All you can do is clean the leather with a good cleaner, or a mixture of Water and Woolite 6:1, condition it periodically...I recommend Leatherique (gotta Google it).

When your Dog touches it...clean it. Or make sure your dog's paws are clean before they get in the car.

There is no magical way to keep something clean...other than cleaning it regularly.
