I went with black because the moonstone interior looked a bit Shamu-ish to me, not to mention that the white would have been harder to keep clean. Of course, the number of ultra hot days where I live is much more limited than what you folks experience in FL and TX, so that wasn't as much of a factor. That being said, I would have preferred the lovely gray leather I had in my 2009 Prius. It was a nice compromise - not nearly as hot in summer and quite easy to keep clean.
“Shamu-ish”: Great description! In my case though, maybe that’s partly why it quickly grew on me, rather than turning me off...
