Don't care to see something now knowing it won't be available for 8 to 10 months.

Toyota should start a Gen4 Kmart style Layaway program. ;)

we can start paying now and and have it paid down by early to mid 2016 when it comes out.

    Any takers....

I haven't seen one, but on pics it is improvement over Gen1. Interior looks really nice, wish Gen4 would have something like this.

BUT Volt isn't on my radar. Thing is that PiP does not fit my driving patterns, and even if it did local electricity rates make it not viable, at least until prices on gas will go up to ~3.60-4.50/gal. And even with $5-6/gal cost of fueling Gen3 is not going be a factor.

It would have to be a much better car to trade Gen3 for Gen4 or Volt 2.0

...right but a different measurement basis after about 2010 so it's apples and oranges.

Depends on how it's measured. In Canada, the Prius Liftback (Gen 3) is listed at 15 cu. ft. which is believable to me (Our 2002 Camry had 16 cu ft. and looked larger than the Prius). I suspect 15 cu ft is under the tonneau cover and 21 cu ft. on the Gen 3 (not 22 IIRC) includes the space above the tonneau cover to the ceiling (and possibly the underfloor tray which accounts for nearly 1 cu ft I think).

Now the new PiP will be revealed at either the 2016 Geneva or the 2016 New York auto shows. Of course if it slides another 6 months after it may not be revealed until the 2016 Frankfurt or the 2016 NAIA show.

Well I've whittled down the choices now that 4 auto shows have gone by. 5 shows remain. Where will the 4G Prius be revealed? Cast your vote at the top!

Toyota tends to be more secretive than most other carmakers when it comes to advance information on their future model plans. Also, it is believed that their original plans called for the Prius IV unveiling to take place at last January's Detroit Auto Show, but a combination of events and issues (the Great Recession, the recall crisis and making sure Toyota gets the TNGA - Toyota New Generation Architecture - that debuts with Prius 4 right) led to the premiere being pushed back to this fall.

I think it's a tossup between Frankfurt, Tokyo and Los Angeles, but if I had to pick a single choice, it would be Tokyo.

    Great news:
According to the official "Toyota Magazine" in Germany (current issue 2/2015) the new Prius will be unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt!

Since I live in Germany and also work for the "let's try to overtake Toyota" car manufacturer it would be a great chance to see the Gen4 live on stage. Let's make it an official business trip for my employer ;-). I hope I will have time for that...

Makes total sense - 2 months between unveiling and start of production (Sept to Nov 30th, see 'everything we know thread)
    Thanks btw!
