Do you guys have an 05? On my 06, there is a about a 3" x 1" x 1.5" (depth) compartment in the side of the drivers door that is perfect for change. It is where the cloth material where the door controls are. You don't have this? Ken
I bought my Prius in the Southeast region, so I got the "ashtray" that fits in the cup-holder. Put my change in that and store it in the driver's door pocket (just fits).
I guess I never looked at it that way, but yes. My main use of it is for my change, but I guess I also use it to close the door. Looking at how it is made, I'm sure Toyota had a dual use for it as well. It works great for change. Ken
My wife had given me a credit card sized ice scraper that I put in there. However, it kept falling out when I shut the door, so now it's back to it's original use.
I keep change in a 35 mm film cannister as well. It's the perfect size for our Canadian $2 coins and smaller denominations. The cannister sits on that little pocket/slot at the front of the center armrest console. What would that slot be there for? Looks like it would hold a cigarette package. The console is the perfect fit for a certain size box of kleenex, which sits ahead of the removable tray.
That's where Toyota put my stack of Valet cards and that's where a small coin purse would fit very well.
I bough the JDM Center Console Tray and plan to put all my change in there. I haven't received it yet so I'm keeping it in the cup holder for the time being.
I keep an absolute TON of change in the 2nd cupholder. I cut down a plastic cup to hold the change, and put it there. I use the front cupholder for my drinks. If I need the second holder, I pull my 'change cup'. I don't usually need the second holder, and I can fit a fistful of change (or two) in there in the meantime...
Thanks bigdaddy for a great idea! I only like to have quarters in the car, so they'll fit perfectly in the little film canister. Now I just need to decide which compartment to store it in?
Don't keep spare change in my car. It weighs it down and impacts the gas mileage I use the little square thingy inside center console, under my right arm for CDs, garage door opener and Altoids.
