Wheel bolt pattern and offset of stock Prius V wheels?

Or, if you have a metal cutting lathe, you can make your own adpater rings out of 6061 aluminum.

 

Sounds like they'd be better quality, and more fun, and you could have them sooner, and customize them as you wanted... But for $4.72/set (with free shipping), I'll just get them online. (Amazon #B0025WSQSE)

On second thought, I don't see why you'd need them, if you are using steel wheels with "cone type" lug nuts and seats. I have a 1998 Mazda MPV with custome American Racing wheels. AR uses "cone type" seats and lung nuts on the aluminum wheels. The centers do not match the center of the hub of the spindle. They centers are larger. They have been fine for over 250k miles, since I ordered the vehicle new. The studs and cone seat lugs center the wheel.

That makes sense - I understand in theory. But I've also read that relying exclusively on the lug nuts to center the wheel is just a little trickier, or that you have to be really careful to tighten them evenly. Probably not difficult, but given the price of the rings I found, I consider it cheap insurance of a centered wheel.

I measured 5.8" backspacing on my 17"x7" rims. This correlates exactly with a 45mm offset on a 7" rim. You must have measured from the step below the rim's edge. You are supposed to measure from the outside edge of the rim to the mounting face of the hub.

 

My friend actually reported a problem to me about the hub centering/hubcentric rings. He got a flat and the non-metal one got stuck and he could not get it off to put on the spare. He said he ended up putting on the spare and crushing the ring on there! I got metal ones for my old '85 de Ville when I got rid of the steel wheels, (always had to replace the covers as somehow they would break and come off.) Because of his reporting this issue I tried taking one off after just putting them on, and I could not easily do so! I ended up buying a 5th wheel and putting that in my trunk as a spare because of this...

I would definitely try to use rings. I'd like some support to go to that part of the wheel, as opposed to just being on the lug nuts/studs. Sometimes they are not tightened tight enough, etc... I had/have trouble with a vibration issue on our '04 Sienna with aftermarket wheels. Balance did not solve it. I realized they did not give me hub rings, got them, but the vibration still continued... I isolated one problem to the right rear brake pad(s) prematurely wearing out, but haven't resolved it yet. (Thank you google search for helping me find that one out.)

 

2012 camry 16" steel wheels are bolt on perfect, you will need to get acorn style lug nuts to mount the steel wheels. The mag wheel lug nuts will not work on steel wheels.

 

Does anyone know if the five star rims from a 2012 5 will fit on a 2013 prius v 5?

 

If you mean wheels from a hatchback to the v wagon, then no, they are different bolt circle diameters. 100 x 5 for the Prius hatchback vs 114.3 x 5 for the v.
