I was scrambling to record the moment... like I did way back... 11.5 years ago. So it took me quite a bit longer to get through each screen than the typical person. My number ended up being 640, following the same process as everyone else. .
John -- you ordered from Dianne? I'd assume something like that given Minnesota isn't a "launch state". Also, good thing I didn't wait to get the email. I got the "ordering is open" email at 2:10 today. I suspect the initial allocation had been reserved 90 minutes earlier...
looks like things arent as crazy as some of us expected them to be... ~2.5 hours after opening and ~1000 cars sold.

PF: the system sold out of cars in 14 minutes. The website had this message at 9:14am: prius plug-in hybrid sold out! Sorry, we've sold out online. If you have a pending order, we still have a Plug-in reserved for you, please log in and confirm your order within 96 hours of your original submission. Otherwise, contact a local dealer for availability. I didn't see the part about the pending order disclaimer in smaller lighter font till about 5 minutes later.
Completed... from the Toyota FAQ... Confirm your order - Once the dealer has approved the order, you will receive a final vehicle order agreement. Sign the agreement online, confirm the order, and you're ready to go. Don't delay – this step gets your order in line to be fulfilled!
Well, the order number shouldn't meet much then because we got assigned the number when we initally signed up. It's at the moment when you clicked confirm after getting the final quote from the dealer. So here's hoping for the best.
Maybe the numbers are by state? There's the initial few numbers, then a few zeros, followed by the last digits...
can you explain then why a member of our group cancelled his 9AM order (having ordered the wrong color) and then re-ordered at 12PM with an order number in the mid-1000s? i think that "sold out" message was a website glitch, that's all. where are all the priuschat members complaining that they could not get a car?
