I named him Archie. Most Toyota factories that build the Prius are located in the Aichi Prefecture in Japan, so I just changed a couple letters in the name to make it sound more masculine
Mine is The Silver Rhinoceros. My daughter decided it was appropriate...She's got a little buddy, Spike, that sits inside...
It's funny I named my first Toyota I ever owned and the only other car I've named is this one. My first Toyota was an 81 Starlet. It was yellow and I called it Peanut. My Prius is Green and I call it Kermit.
We don't normally name our vehicles. But that doesn't stop my 5-year-old. To her, the Prius is "The stinky gas car." A bit of a mouthful, but it says volumes.
I always use illiteration when I name a car. My last car was Suzi the Suzuki.. I just traded her in for a 2012 Prius and Wednesday and after a lot of votes, stupid suggestions and thinking way too much, I named her Penelope the Prius. It's very fitting and has absolutely no meaning. I just think it's pretty.
I don't typically name vehicles, but I had to come up with something to label it on Fuelly, so I chose "Red MPG Machine" because it's red and gets the best miles per gallon of any car I've had before.
The only vehicle I've ever named was my last motorcycle. But I am kind if thinking about naming my "new" car Pip. For obvious reasons.
I love word play. BTW, typing it into a Google search finds all of the people on-line who can't spell! My red 2010 Gen-III is Ruby and my green 2004 Gen-II is Gladys. They both got their names while we were responding to the nagging from the navigation voice whenever we took a new road not on her map. Bill the Engineer
My friends and I dubbed mine as "Sasha", from Scrubs (JD's scooter and donkey). It was disappointing that when Sasha was replaced by a Prius, her name didn't carry with it. Ahh well. PS, any Nerd³ fans? Who might relate and understand a deeper meaning to it? No? ok..
For now we just call it "the Prius" but I suspect after sitting in those seats on our 6,000+ mile road trip this coming summer there might be a bit of profanity between the "the" and the "Prius". I think our butts are going to be pretty sore.
You forgot its forum thread! People would then better understand the name. The Hybrid Convertible Project Prius v | PriusChat
