We just have the mud flaps and auto door locks on order and haven't heard a word in 3+ weeks. I sent a note asking status and never got a reply as well. It seems the least they could do is keep you informed on your order status and/or respond to eMails.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(victor\";p=\"88154)</div> I am considering doing so as well. How did you do that and do you get feedback that the order is indeed cancelled?
I just sent an e-mail to the contact address on their web site. Of course got no reply from them :x but then they never bothered to confirm my order either.
I am guessing that some of the items that were orders were not in stock. They should communicate better about the status of orders. I ordered a door lock kit on Friday May 6th and on Monday May 9th got a shipping notice from UPS so I know the item has been shipped. I have had no direct contact from Coastal Tech would have been nice to have gotten some kind of order conformation email.
Anybody know of any other video input solutions out there? I've been waiting for this from Dave since he announced coming soon last year. I could use your help, as I am working on some technology I think you will all drool over when its done.
I emailed Coastetech regarding status of my EV kit order. I got a response on April 8 that they were currently sold out and would ship my order as soon as it was available. I'm patiently(?) waiting.
I ordered the mudflaps a while back, don't remember exactly when since I also didn't get a confirmation of the order. It must be 6 or 8 weeks at least. I got tired waiting and hearing nothing. So I sent them a email telling them to cancel my order. Again no response. I went ahead and ordered the flaps from another source. Well guess what? I get an email a couple of days ago saying that my mudflaps were shipped by UPS. What do I do with the extra set of mudflaps? Refuse the order? Send them back? Either way I will be out the shipping both ways. And then try to get my money from them somehow. What a way to run a business. I don't think I will be ordering anything more from them. Charlie UPDATE: Kelley called and someone had sent her this post. She was quite upset because I hadn't tried to call her. The upshot is, she apparently didnt get my cancel email and was willing to take the flaps back and refund all of my money. She is even sending me a 'FREE' Power Outlet Mod. They don't send email confirmations, just the order page printed is your receipt for the order. I guess the best way to communicate is via phone call. She is trying very hard to reestablish confidence in their Company. Charlie
Refuse the order and initiate a chargeback with your credit card company. That is no way to run a business.
this company doesn't deserve any orders from Prius owners. I ordered a remote trunk opener for my Classic in mid-April and nothing at all. So I intend to cancel as well. Their service is just one notch better than P**s useless. If they can't do any better than this, all they are doing is burying themselves. Sooner gone the better.
I am glad I finally decided to read this thread, as I have been considering ordering from coastaletech for some time now. However, I believe I will refrain from giving them my business. For those who believe they have been treated unfairly, I would suggest filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The Orlando BBB is responsible for handling complaints for companies located in Indialantic, FL: http://www.orlando.bbb.org/commoncomplaint.html The filing process is easy, and if the BBB thinks you have a legitimate case, they will contact coastaletech to try to resolve the issue. If they receive no response, then coastaletech will be blacklisted. This may not mean much, but at least it will give you some satisfaction. Hopefully, though, coastaletech will respond to the BBB. This will ultimately give you resolution, and will hopefully elicit change with coastaletech's business practice.
I know some (most? all?) states allow so many days for an order to be fulfilled, after which the company is to contact you whether to continue the order, or cancel if unfullfilled. If the company did not offer you an opportunity to cancel, I don't believe you are responsible for any charges, including shipping, if refused. That may also go for dealers holding deposits for unshipped cars.
On a positive note...I ordered the 2" receiver hitch from Coastal on May 5th, got it on May 16th. Got 2 confirmation e-mails, one saying they have my order, the other saying it just shipped out. Card was charged on the second e-mail, after it shipped. I installed it last night in 45 minutes. Instructions were good, including pics! Fits well, seems very well made. Looks professional. Can't wait to get a bike/snowboard carrier for it next. Your (customer service) mileage may vary. Thanks Coastal and everyone there that's doing all they can to keep up with an overwhelming demand for gadgets that, sadly, Toytoa is not providing. Even the cars themselves..still... Cheers!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(finman\";p=\"90829)</div> Well, I find that odd, because I ordered the 2" hitch from them (the only item I ordered) about a month ago; I received an email back after a few days, stating they were out of stock and would ship and charge me when it became available...and I have heard nothing since then! Rob
I've gotten several items from Coastal promptly: XM radio, auto door lock kit, power outlet kit, and receiver hitch. All came with good instructions, although I had a shop do the work. They all work as advertised. I'm still waiting for the Nav kit, Viewtech, and license plate camera. These are "pre-order" items. It can be difficult getting information from them. I've found that calling the non-tollfree number works best. Don't bother leaving messages, just call back later if no one answers.
The toll-free number doesn't work for me. I have to call the direct (long-distance) number. When did you orders yours? recently? onerpm, where are you located? Wonder if he has a preference in shipping location
