What's the point of lots of speed and acceleration?

    Speed and acceleration is a by-product of EV drivetrains with modern, light weight batteries. In contrast, gas/diesel engines have to pass a lot of air through the engine to make equivalent power. This takes time unless the engine is constantly spinning at red-line ... possible but impractical for other reasons.
