New Prius or a used Camry

Wow, what a question. I own a 2010 Camry and a 2010 Prius, both bought new. These cars are like apples and oranges when you compare them.

What kind of car do you like to drive? A big cushy ride on the interstate (buy a Camry) or a smaller easier to maneuver vehicle with much better fuel economy? If you are worried about payback, buy a used Kia Rio.

It does not matter that the Camry is "certified". If you plan to keep the car for a long time, buy new. When you buy a car, you want one that does not return for dealer service. As the joke goes, a rental car is able to go places and do things that your own car will never do. It goes thru all kinds of pot holes, over curbs, thru deep water, and all kinds of stuff that my car will never do. If you want to turn the car in a year or two, consider the Camry. By the way, who put 27,000 miles on a 2011 Camry?? I paid $21,489 for a new Gen II 2010 Prius.

Thanks for the opinions. The decision has been made I bought a new 2011 II silver gray. With the oil prices like they are discounts are out of the question here in Iowa. I think they gave me a little larger trade in????? In these times the dealer always wins. Well I think the dealer always wins. They a looking for the car I want but think they Will have one by the end of the week.

Hard to say w/o knowing more about you, but I think you made the right decision.
The Prius isn't everyone's ideal car to be sure, but I think that it's a very capable commuting car. If you're willing to put up with the G3's eccentricities, take good care of it, and add a dash of luck where other drivers and mule deer are concerned.....you'll be happy with the car for a loooong time.

    Best of luck!!

    Enjoy those $30 fill-ups!!! :D
