I traded a 2004 Pontiac GTO (Holden) with only 30k miles in perfect condition. A eighteen year old girl bought it and then totaled it before she got home.

The fuel costs and my inability to maintain sane driving habits prompted the trade. I have no problem driving the Prius as it was designed. It's like I grew up.

Don't have the Prius yet (maybe tomorrow?). But, we'll be selling our 2006 Lexus IS350. My wife now drives the Lexus 50mi R/T per day and it seems like she's filling it up every couple of days (exaggeration) with premium gas. The IS350 is all about performance which, unfortunately, is totally lost on her. I only drive about 3 mi to the office, so I take my Dodge 3500. In a different economy, I'd keep the Lexus for myself. The equity I have in it can be put to better use (not to mention one less insurance payment).

2006 Euro Honda Civic 2.2 CDti diesel - fantastic performance, shedloads of torque so in-gear acceleration superb, pretty clean and efficient and great dealer network. Such a good looking car that it still caught admiring looks 3 years on...

However, a bone-shaking ride on 18" low profile rims and pretty claustrophobic in the back not to mention subject to five different recalls! My parents refused to ride in the back, so eventually it had to go...

Got a fantastic trade-in against the Prius (the Civic retained 56% of book price after 3 and a half years) but I was still sad to see my rocket ship go!

Why is the US Civic so dull compared to the British-built one?!

Just signed the lease tonight for my new Prius. I'll be picking it up on Saturday. I'm so glad that I'm getting rid of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I love the way that the Jeep handles, but the gas mileage has been killing me from day one (I average 15 MPG). I signed the lease on the Jeep a month before gas began to skyrocket in '07, and since then I've been kicking myself. Toyota even covered the early termination fee on the Jeep, so I'm really happy.

Needles to say, I'm excited to get my Prius!

2008 Suzuki XL7 2WD 252hp 3.6L with manumatic. It's a quick and roomy SUV but the Prius is going to put about an extra $100 per month in my pocket in gas savings even with the negative equity of my trade-in.

1999 Subaru Brighton Legacy. A 4 year old boy was in the Subaru and asked me what the round handle was for. I told him "To roll up the windows". He told me "Awesome". We gave up our "Awesome" car which was costing us for repairs constantly. The drivers seat was also worn out. I like our new computer that runs on gas now. 2010 Prius.

The two cars are almost identical; just wish the prius has the panaromic sunroof (like the c coupe). It would open the prius A LOT more.

Regarding about the ticking time bomb, I always wondered what's going to break next which was odd cause it was a benz.

Don't even remind me, my 02 Si was hardly anything exciting compared to the top civics in Japan or Europe. I got tired of waiting for the Type-R to come to the U.S. Ironically the dull "U.S." model I had was built in Swindon.

My wife was driving a 1998 Camry. She is now driving the Prius and I have parked the Toyota Sequoia in the garage and drive the Camry. Keep the Sequoia for family car and hauling things.

My two previous cars were a 2004<or 5?> Honda Civic Hybrid (I wanted a Prius but couldn't stand the wait) and a 2007 Prius.

Previous Car: Subaru 2005 Legacy GT
    Why:
    1. Fuel economy was a big one. When gas was over $4.00/Gal it was costing me over 100/week and given the artificially supressed price of gas right now, I see gas prices going only one direction in the future. As the economy recovers gas is going to rocket up.
    2. Technologically, it intrigued me. I like electronic Geegaws. The Prius has a lot of them.
    3. I like radical change. Going from a fast car like the Legacy to a hyper efficient car like the prius just seemed interesting.
    4. The difference in fuel cost helps to mitigate the car payment.
    5. Stealth mode. I like scaring the crap out of cyclists. ;)

Sacrilege. I hope to keep my '97 Legacy GT until an HSD Subaru is available. But the high gas prices did make me to learn how to push the Subaru's average summer mpg above 32.

My Prius replaced an '86 Accord Hatchback.

I believe your package is "solar roof". The solar premium is a European package.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic with the SWAT comment.

Anyway, yeah so it's the solar roof =)
