I've read the thread at the GM site to this point and frankly it is childish. Plenty of good arguments from many against the OP, however he is an ignoramus and a troll (we've seen plenty of them here over the years). It was a fun read. It is nice to know I'm not as stupid or ignorant as I feel sometimes, however I will go on with my life knowing the positive financial impact of the purchase of the Prius in my life.

I don't need some fool on the web trying to tell me that my own numbers don't work.

Well koa, supporting a trillion dollar war in order to perpetuate the drain of America's economy down a foreign oil well owned by anti-american forces does not lead me to conclude intelligence or understanding, either.

Careful. Lots of folks here spell it "breaks", too, possibly including a liberal Democrat or two.

I would argue that Malorn is more civil and reasonable in his arguments. After reading that "surferdude's" rantings, it's clear to me he's not interested in facts. Mileage results are lied about, small cars are unsafe...he must be working the line at GM and is upset about their future.

I think I like the idea of telling him that I hope he doesn't breed :)

"where do they get this info?"

A couple of terms we use in aerospace:

"Atmospheric derivation": (out of thin air)
"Cranial-rectal extraction": (made it up and pulled it out of his a$$)

SurferDude has an acute attack of cognitive dissonance.

He WANTS to feel good about his car, but all he gets to hear is hybrid this and hybrid that. Downright annoying, if you ask him.

So, like a good internet surfer, he checks out a couple of links, and pulls out what sounds like facts to back up his wishful thinking that hybrids are not really that great. Poor fuel economy here, mishmashed understanding there. It all comes together.

NaterPrius was right; political rallies have the same sort of flavor lots of times.

After reading that surferdude's posts, I concluded he's helpless.

He doesn't even understand how hybrid works.

The poster is only afraid of what he is threatened by and doesn't understand. There would be no point in presenting facts to counter his claims....he won't read them or understand.

Unfortunatly, there are a lot more people out there who have the same sentiments.

You have a lot of folks there that are scared of losing what has been an American Symbol to them for years. They will try anything to hold on to some glimmer of hope that their world can be restored. I see no hope for this corporation.

I was reading it for awhile but then just got bored when I realized that the OP was not going to concede to any facts presented. But then, it just seemed that both sides were pretty set in their ideas and opinions.

The dinosaur is writhing in agony......

    Leave it.

How much credence are you going to give a "car expert" that can't spell "brake"?

If you go to that site and look at everyone avatar...they all are bragging about how big thier engine is!..of course they get off to justifying thier stance by putting down the hybrid. First of all.. look at which one they picked on?.. you have to admit.. looks is not its forte?

These guys appreciate anything that slams anyone who is not in thier club.....

Just forget about it... the more you prove them foolish, the more it will enrage their bruised ego.

If they want to get 13 mpg and pay dearly for it.... let em revel in thier stupidity.

I would not waste my time with that post. I think Suferdude is just probably bored and trolling to see how many hybrid owners are on the same board. It seems the anomininity of the Internet lets people think they can act like idiots.
