I'm in the 800km (500 mile) range too mostly because I use the engine on the highway so efficiency is lower and thus total range.

Filled the tank yesterday. DTE showing 511 miles. The shortest so far since I started recording it earlier this year. I wonder it gets even shorter as the HV mpg is hit by the cold temperature.

If my assumption is correct, this means my previous HV mpg was 511/9.3 = 54.9 mpg which is probably very close to what I really got on the last tank of gas on HV.

I filled up again last night. This tank has a 370+ mile trip to Kennedy Space Center. If not for needing to go to a funeral today up in Bushnell, I could go another couple weeks. Checked the DTE and it was 543 miles this time compared to 531 on the last fill up back in October.

Another fill up. This time 509 miles on DTE after fresh fill-up. It has been steadily going down. I assume due to lower HV mpg in cold weather.
As before if my assumption is correct, this means my previous HV mpg was 509/9.3 = 54.7 mpg.

Me too, I was saving the gas receipts and writing the mileage at fill but got bored with that. In the summer it's about 500 mi. DTE but now I'm only getting about 80mpg here in the northeast. So upset that I may have to buy gas again this year....not really. On nearly 20K since 12-23-17 purchase date, I average 118 mpg. Not too shabby! I commute 30 miles round trip each weekday. I cover that almost exactly on EV when the weather is warm. Now much less. I'm trying some work arounds like using the heated seat instead of the cabin heat. It's chilly doing that. Happy Solstice!

No guts, no glory. I live in the Hudson Highlands and don't accomplish that range now. I did figure out that each line on the gas tank indicator reflects about a gallon. I have to fill up soon. It's showing about 100 miles to go currently with 2 lines on the indicator.

The cold weather has settled in. I now have only 495miles on DTE after recent fill-up. The lowest so far after I started recording DTE last spring. I wonder how low it gets before starting to increase again.

As before if my assumption is correct, this means my previous HV mpg was 495/9.3 =53.2 mpg.

Just filled up for the second time since I’ve owned my car. Bought it two years ago this past December. My DTE was 529. I have 13,687 miles on the odometer. I have put a total of 13.4 gallons of gas in it. Still enjoying my prime.

To be clear, 13.4 gallons in two fill-ups, correct? The tank is only 11.3 gallons. What is your EV ratio on the Drive Monitor says? Must be very high.

Correct. First Fill-up over a year ago was 6.5 gallons, the second fill-up was a couple of days ago with 6.9 gallons. I’ll have to check my EV ratio the next time I’m in the car. I use the car at least five days a week, going back-and-forth to work with a commute that’s just over 20 miles round-trip. That’s the reason I use such little gas.

Another fill-up, lowest DTE since I started recording it last summer. 486 miles

My previous HV mpg estimate from this number: 4865/9.3 =52.3 mpg.

DTE number is almost meaningless in my situation.... because I plug in my Prime whenever possible sometimes a couple times a day. But it would be useful in a long distance trip with no plug in charging involved.

Yeah, with multiple EV charges it is not useful as an estimation for the real distance to empty. What its usefulness is, as I have indicated, to estimate HV mpg on your last tank. EV ranges (single or multiple charges don't matter) are not added to DTE distance, it is strictly on gas only HV mode distance to empty. It does not matter how many times you charge your car, if you do not use gas on HV mode, DTE will remain unchanged. Since car displays mpg including EV miles and there is no easy way to calculate EV/HV portion of your drive, this DTE number is one of the best ways to estimate how you are doing on HV drive portion from the last tank.

After fill-up today my DTE is 644 miles, close to the advertised range. Indicated mpg is 71 since last fill-up but actual mpg is closer to 66.4 (476 miles/7.17 gals). Have not plugged in to charge for a month, but filled up once every week. Daily commute is about 95 miles with 95% freeway and DRCC set to 71 mph, but about half the commute is bumper to bumper traffic.

WOW, that's the record for PRIME, although I am sure there are higher numbers on regular Gen4 Prius. From my earlier comment, assuming this number is based on mpg on your most recent tank (but only to fuel light up or 9.3 gal), the mpg is 644/9.3=69.25mpg which is very close to your Indicated mpg of 71 or calculated mpg of 66.4.

It does fit well with my assertion that DTE can be used as a good estimate for the HV only mpg from the last tank (9.3 gal to empty light).

    Thanks for reporting.

OK, this is my last DTE update on my previous 2017 PRIME. I just traded in for new 2020 PRIME LE. The number is the lowest I have recorded. I don't know if it was going upwards as weather gets warmer. I will update that on my new 2020 PRIME.

HV mpg estimate from this number: 450/9.3 =48.4 mpg.

I just checked my records. My last refueling DTE was 545 miles back in December. It'll pass 2,600 tomorrow. Gonna get a chance to get a new reading again soon, though ... if I remember where the gas cap is. :ROFLMAO:

Well, after just under 700 miles on the current tank, my DTE on gas is reading 525 miles. Down 25 miles since I gassed up on March 6. Today I drove 9.5 miles in HV mode and the computer showed 79.9 mpg for that drive. This thing is seriously stingy on gas.

Since I started tracking DTE at fill up it has gone up every time and I'm not doing anything different.

Mine has gone down since the only time I use gas is on the highway lol.
