The best part of the automatic climate control is just how "automatic" it is. If you've been used to the standard manual systems, it will take some getting used to (you'll want to increase temperature, change the fan, and redirect the air) - but once you learn to "trust" the system, just put it on "AUTO", and increase the temperature a few degrees if your're cold or decrease it a few degrees if you're hot. And, it does all the work from there. The only other intervention you'll need is to select front defog if needed.

And, since the AC compressor is electric and variable speed, if you use AUTO and adjust the temperature, the computer will figure out the proper compressor speed and duty cycle.

I put 130k miles on my 2010, and the only expenses were gas, oil changes, tires, transmission fluid changes (at 15k and 80k) and a coolant change at 100k. Nothing else. It was a marvel of reliability for 6 years. I hope the 2016 provides similar reliability. :)

As a first-time PreEye ;) owner, that's what I like to hear, Eric. And thanks very much for the info on the auto climate control features. Sounds good.

Regarding maintenance, I like the light schedule. Did you change the oil every 10K, or sooner? (When was the first change?)

I think that I did an early first change, and then 10k thereafter. I've read that common wisdom suggests an early first change to flush any remnants of manufacturing debris and initial asperity wear, but have started to rethink that a bit - there is an oil filter to catch all that junk, isn't there? And the quality/technology of all-synthetic oil is such that I really question the necessity of the first, early oil change.

Of course, there are many, many different opinions on this topic, and I don't want to start that discussion...

There is a humidity sensor up there somewhere.
