I was planning to upgrade to 16s but wanted to make sure my mpg doesn't get impacted. Are there any low rolling resistance 16 inch tires that are lower profile? I want to make sure the overall rolling diameter contacting the floor is the same as stock, so that my speedometer is still relatively accurate

It happens. Even with forged wheels. Heat, stress, etc. So it's best to always check your equipment before you go out there racing at full speed.

For street, shouldn't be much of a problem unless you hit a pothole, curb, etc. I've tracked on cast wheels like the rpf1, k1, etc. Never had an issue but have definitely seen others with issues. But this is mostly after several track days, through severe stress.

Truth. But they're copies so it's saddening.

Fwiw those ecopia tires do NOT come in either commonly used tire size for our car when upsizing aka not available in 195/50 r16 or 205/40 r17

It seems lrr tires just about only seem to come in common economy car 15" sizing and prius sizing. Aka 205/50 r 17

I have on 215/45/17 Hankook Optimos on 17x7. I chose this tire since they're stock for a lot of cars so not too pricey and readily available (about 100 a pop). They also only weigh 20lbs. Honestly though this is an inferior tire to the stock Goodyear Assurance on the '14, and if you read all the warnings about them on tirerack I have to believe they're true. If I wasn't in the L.A. area and somewhere like Wisconsin I would not recommend! :). Definitely going back to Assurance tires when these wear out, a little pricier but they have them in the same exact size, and 1 pound lighter.

My decision really to take the Kosei over the Enkei is they're half a pound lighter - that was basically it. The price from the guy I was ordering them from was not too much different. 760 for the Koseis (cash) the Enkeis would've been 800.

Update on MPG : Started my normal commute this week, which is about 25 miles each way with two big hills. I felt a hit on this hilly drive, I'm averaging 51 when I used to get in the 55-56 range. Not too much but I'm crying about it ;_;. I'm obsessed with my MPG reader haha. My car sits very high now, I think this might have something to do with it along with the bit of added weight. 16s would probably be perfect for maintaining exact mpg or improving it. But otherwise in the city and normal drives the economy was more or less the same.

Wow, 215/45 is a good bit taller than stock... Should give you higher fwy mileage though just less city accel.

What have you done to your C today?

I dropped my C in a body shop to fix minor accident. Got a rental Chrysler 200: more room, more power and more money to fill up the gas tank.

First priC I've seen with 18s! looks great.

put this random exhaust on, fuel economy is back with my 17s and some! not too shabby looking either and has a nice low bass growl. K&N filter should be arriving tomorrow to save me even more mpgs!

This weekend, doing something with the back lights. I'm going to ask my tint guy if he could limo the sides of them and soft 35 the backs o_O or else just 35 all around. Might vinyl wrap the front grill also, thought about plasti-dip but I have no confidence in my abilities :cautious: I'd rather just do it once professionally.

How 18 in rim affect the car, and gas milage. Does it touch the car body? By the way, love your mod. You did good job.

20% tints, smoked tail lights, LED replacements for DRL/Reverse/interior lights and a 6000k HID kit. I'm considering 'blacking out' the portion on middle of the front bumper. We're going to get some rims for it when we have the money. 2014-06-04 10.02.24.jpg 2014-06-03 16.53.56.jpg 2014-05-31 15.53.58.jpg 2014-05-28 17.05.35.jpg
