I guess they lowered it for better aerodynamics? I think it's only 1/2 to 1 inch lower, not sure. And the guys that install lowering springs, I wonder how much lower they go??? I mean no disrespect to the people that do modifications, but I'm so so tall I need a higher car, not lower.
Hahaha! The 2017 Four makes us feel very young BTW! And is a blast to drive at 15 miles....can't wait to take it on a road trip. We did notice that the windows appear to be much lower than on Gen 3; this must lower the weight but feels like it exposes the body to more damage in a collision with higher vehicles. It does improve visibility. The first thing I noticed in the quick guide is that there is an air vent on the right bottom of the second row seats. It needs to remain uncovered to vent one of the batteries. Guess I will have to quit using the rear seat floor as my trunk. Maybe they should put a bright sticker around this vent and tell us to leave the area open.
That's an idea....a cage....hmmmm! Still fun to drive after 30 miles. We bought this car for Hubby, who then said he wanted it to be mine. He has been eyeing my 2013 V Three for over three years...why not, it is a fabulous car, too, and has only 38K miles! Still getting used to all the new safety features, and realize that I pay lots of attention to the road when I drive, but do cross lane lines A LOT! As my neck has grown stiffer over time, it is good to see the rear view mirrors light up if there is a car nearby when I am thinking about moving into that lane. And the rear camera is greatly improved over the 2013 model. Just have to be extra careful when it is rainy and the camera lens is blocked. It is so difficult now when I have to drive a car without a rear view camera.
Greetings! New owner to a 2016 four. One week ago a Prius was not even on my radar. Yes, I have a lot to learn. Looks like I am in the right place.
Welcome! This is definitely the right place. Although we can get a little(?) crazy at times, we are harmless and there is a lot of good information here. You have what we call a Generation 4 Prius. The main forum for that is here. Gen 4 (2016 to Current) Toyota Prius Forums | PriusChat
Welcome! Your Prius c is smaller than the current Generation 4 Liftback. Your main forum is at Toyota Prius c Forums | PriusChat Enjoy your new economical ride!
I'm new here! I'm now a proud owner of a 2008 Prius and I wanted to thank this message board for helping me out with a problem. I don't know too much about how to diagnose car issues but I was able to discern and self diagnose from researching and using this board what my issue with my new used Prius was. Some background: I got into an accident with my Maxima a few months ago and began looking for a new car with the help of my family. We found a Prius in great condition in NY with less than 100,000 miles on it for a fantastic price, which is rare as all hell. We picked up the car last weekend, on Earth Day inadvertently enough haha, but immediately as we got on the highway and up to higher speeds it started making a crazy, screaming noise. My brother and grandfather, who are autophiles, looked over the car to get it ready for me to drive but they couldn't figure out what the noise was, everything worked and looked great otherwise. I started researching which lead me here. I also found some videos on YouTube that helped me compare sounds to find out what the issue was. It turns out it was a bad wheel baring on the drivers side. I got it fixed this week and just started driving it today and it's quiet as it should be. I'm so happy and thankful for these boards!

Hi friends, have a Honda Civic Hybrid (that sucks with 32-34MPG) and looking to upgrade to a Prius Prime or a new 2018 Camry Hybrid in Sept when they come out ... can't WAIT to dump this Honda ! ! ! LOL!
You dislike the Civic due to the mpg or for other reasons? My son traded in his Corolla for a new Civic.
I don't get it. 32-34 mpg is great. You're saving a ton if money driving this in place of an suv or what-not. Buying a new car will cost you far more money than the additional gas savings. Maybe I'm misreading you and there's a different reason to update?
