Oh, heck yeah. Some of the best beer I've ever had is made less than a mile from my house. And I'm making a concious effort to buy more beer made with sustainable power. The New Belgium guys have it down - plus they offer some snazzy, top-end jerseys at good prices. I was recently asked if New Belgium Brewery sponsors me. Ha. No. I sponsor THEM!

One more on the topic. Regional specialty "smoked beer" in Bomberg, Germany. It is like drinking a ham sandwich!

It's the nozzle end of the water hose. You have to pump it for it to spray, but I had to always keep it pointing up or it would slowly drip. The size of my hose doesn't make you nervous does it?


And no, I haven't used the drip torch, but this is a step up from the flappers (altho much heavier, doesn't look that big in the picture, but consider that 5 gallons of water > 40 pounds and this older setup isn't terribly ergonomic).

Never been a fan of Rausch Bier myself. I don't like smoked porters for the same reason. Yes, New Belgium does a good job. You should only drink beer made within 100 miles of your house. Unfortunately, for me that includes Bud and Coors.

Here I am on a trip last weekend to survey the damage done to the environment by the Prius. There's nothing for miles around that nickel plant but the slag created by selfish Prius buyers. Very sad.
