What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

I had a sports bra on my rolla and loved it.

 

The bumper is more likely to get chipped then the hood. If I am feeling lazy I will just put the lower half on as it is the area I am more concerned with as it gets hit most with debris.

 

I've been pretty lucky so far. I try to stay away from pick ups and tractor trailers. I got a chip in the windshield the first week I owned the car and I couldn't of been more upset lol.

 

I do the same, but unfortunately no matter how hard you try to stay back, from trucks and other cars, debris it everywhere, dirt or sand seem to be the worst. But the bra works, if used!

 

Is the whole popularity of the "folding mirrors" (automatic) based on people who have to park on the street? Short of someone being a real bad driver (yeah, it happened to me), I've otherwise never saw a need to collapse the mirrors when I park a car.

 

I think it's the ooooooh, Aaaaaaah factor.
It folds! Love it!

 

I mostly want the turn signal lamps in the side mirrors. The auto-folding is to show off in my opinion, but I could picture the peace of mind knowing they're nicely tucked in when you're parked in a public lot. There's lots of narrow parking spots around here.

On a sidenote, I had a sheriff drive behind me for the last 4 miles of my commute this morning. He finally pulled up next to me at one of my last stop lights before I had to turn onto another street. Got a little nervous when he asked what sort of tail lights I have and I told him they're aftermarket. He then asked for the specific brand and where I got them from cause he wants to order the same ones for his wife's Prius.

 

Scary, since there's lots of chps out at right now trying to meet their quota. I see you hiding in the bushes! lol

My commute this morning sucked, as I hit I bad patch of the freeway. Last time ever I use that lane.

 

There's a coffee shop I stop by before work sometimes (it's actually where I took my avatar pic) and I always run into the same two SDPD officers. They circled my car on foot once looking at the window tint and tails, but they've never said anything to me. I'm hoping I never have to deal with CHP and find out what they think.

I hit a pothole yesterday myself. I don't think my car would've drove away if I didn't have the stock 15s. Hopefully your wheels are all good.

 

Wheel Spacer Question:

For those of you using a 5mm spacer (front or rear) with aftermarket wheels and tuner lugs...How many turns of engagement are you getting?

Wheel experts generally say at least 7 or 8 turns is bare minimum for safety concern. I have a 5mm up front but have APR extended studs all-around for my setup.

 

Buy them a cup of coffee sometime. I have done this from time to time. You have no idea how much goodwill this produces. All of a sudden you are their new best friend and your car looks totally legal to them!

 

Freeway battle scar from a shredded tire debris.

This happened yesterday. Luckily the damage is underneath the front passenger prius plus kit piece.

Can't see the damage unless you look underneath the car.

 

@Xterra72 oh shoot. Try and see if you can DIY with some blizzard Pearl touch up paint, clear coat and if the scrapes are deep enough try to use some filler bindi and sand down first. Good luck man.

I changed my transmission fluid at 39k miles today. I did notice that the jack point at the front of the vehicle was bent in a little from the side. It is about quarter sized and about 1/16 to 1/8 inch deep. Should I be worried?

 

I got some new tires put on my car today, as well as installed the leather wheel.

 

Thank you for the warm welcome bonchang, I enjoy modding cars. After starting on page one of this tread, I already ordered quite a bit of stuff, just have not got around to installing anything just yet. Just received the perforated leather and piano black steerring wheel, the quality is amazing, can't wait to install.

 

Sean if you plan on selling them, I would be glad to take them off your hands.
