Mod for the day - I (with my wifes help) finally opened my drivers door !!! Two offset screw drivers and a lot of pulling and finally Success !

And the offending CCF that caused all this grief- reminds me of Han Solo in the carbonite

    So true and Thanks!

I saw a previous post of yours where you used some Thermolite for the back doors, can I ask where you got it from and was it worth putting it in?

Glad you didn't need to take it to the dealer get the door open.
Thermolite is $$$, so I used a heavyweight polyester batting material on the door panels during my first attempt at soundproofing when I was trying Frost King on the doors instead of MLV/CCF. It falls into the "it can't hurt" category, but I wouldn't bother with it unless you think you can hear some higher frequency sounds sneaking through the MLV/CCF layer.

By the way, one tip for working with MLV -- for the final fit, it helps to lay the MLV/CCF piece out in the sun for a few minutes so it gets hot and flexible and will better form-fit to the lumps, bumps and holes in the doors and door panels (or the curves when you're doing the floor). I did mine during winter and used a heat gun to warm up the MLV when the sun wasn't out.

I will say I was pretty happy this morning :). The dealer wanted $135 just to get it in the door, then I looked up the price of a new panel which was about $275 (online) if they destroyed it trying to get it open. Could have been a really bad day. Soooo lucky, and I will definitely never do that mistake again :)

    Thanks again

Thanks, I was pretty happy myself that I didn't have to take it to the dealer :). Thanks for the info, I'll just stick with the MLV/CCF for now.

The MLV sitting in the sun get pretty hot (learned that lession myself :) and I will defiantly be using your tip for the back doors with fitting it around the foam. For the front doors I sealed the openings with aluminum flashing, and shaved the foam down to fit. I wont be sealing the back doors though. It took me way to long to do the front doors, although the drivers door was going well until my little mistake yesterday, but there finally done!

Changed spark plugs on my prius. Bought autolite from napa for $17 for 4 plugs whereas toyota dealer was quoting $16 for a single piece. still have the engine vibration so next will clean the manifold.

image.jpg Just got my interior LED kit from iJDMtoy. Question about the map lights... Why put padded foam adhesive on the backside if there's nothing for it to stick to? I test fitted one (that's why it's missing from the photo) and the plug is preventing me from pushing the piece any further. I pretty much just have the light hanging by the cord and resting on the light diffuser. Are your lights like this too?

*Edit: Got them installed. Wow they are bright!

I was able to make the double sided foam make contact however there wasn't enough surface contact for it to stay......it eventually came loose. I just got more foam to stick in behind the board so it wouldn't rattle

The iJDMToy interior LEDs are the only way to go.
The cheap LED kits aren't worth the trouble, in my opinion.

$17 for 4?? the Prius factory installed iridium tip spark plugs, I bought mine from Amazon
    like $9 each.

Since changing the plugs isn't easy on the Prius...I'd rather get a good branded plugs to installed. There's not fun taking off the wiper assembly and under tray etc. How many miles on the old plugs?
