yeah...I had to spend a lot of time and I did ask other posters for answers..but as usual the best teacher is your own experience...so when I do something that is important I document and wait for the feedback...and like talking to a friend..the forums will say you got it right, or you got it wrong...so yeah having this forum is great. Having a category for install tips (DIY) would be easier to get solutions and not waste time..trolling other websites of vendors and other forums for answers , because we're all trying to save time and money.

What headlight bulb is that? Aftermarket HID or LED in the halogen projector?

Yellow LED. No need for ballast. It will fit in low beam. But you have to take out the bumper to install. I recommend for fog light. I test drive the car this morning. The thing is very bright. I pointed below my low beam.

I meant in the regular headlight - it's got some highlights above the cutoff that will probably get a lot of people flashing lights at you...

Probably not. The HID are brighter then the LED. Really depend where you pointing your headlight.

All of the Prius lowbeam projectors have that. Google search "squirrel finder cutouts", they are small openings in the cutoff shields that allow light above the cutoffs. Typically, they allow one to see overhead signs and roadside signs that are further down the road, that are beyond the cutoff points for the lowbeam headlights.

Since HIDs are several times brighter than halogens, it can be a significant source of glare. Some people bend the metal tab that creates the squirrel finder cutouts closed and seal them with JB Weld to mitigate this glare. Most do not.

Here's a thread discussing them, and a picture:

Funny, I didn't know that the term was used on other kinds of cars - I had the same issue with a Subaru where I did drop-in HID kits (into OEM projectors) and had to fix them. I constantly had people flashing lights at me until I resolved it:

Sorry to hear that. My box was slightly bent but I was lucky the item was okay and undamaged.

I have bumperplugs but still need a tow hook license plate mod.
Next plan is to change the antenna to a shark fin. (black)

Dash Cam is that tiny screen near the top left.
I ran the cable under the headliner, down the pillar, into the dash, behind the head unit. I tapped into a wire that was not being used on the stereo, so the camera turns on and records when I start the car, then shuts off when the car is powered off.

Oh, and I also have some new blue interior lights

For switched power to my dashcam, I tapped a wire on the ECU plug that is hiding behind the mirror switch dash panel. It's been a while but IIRC it was a blue wire.

Installed the Htech and TRD rear swaybar.
Springs are lower and stiffer than nf210's.
Lowered tire pressure to 37 psi front & 35 psi rear.
No complaints from my Pregnant Wife(y)

Now I'm selling my Tanabe nf210
