Lots of elbow grease, microfiber towels and a carnauba paste wax makes the Faux Five all shiny like new. (y)

I have a brand new blacked-out 2014 Prius (below). The blue in the Prius emblem irked me to no end (cheesy-looking). So, I used a plastic bike tire-changing tool and popped the emblem off. That blue is a flimsy plastic sheet. After removing it I reattached the emblem. Now it looks elegant!

Also, I adjusted the rear wiper blade to be oriented perfectly vertical... Not sure why they don't manufacture it like that. Makes the lines straighter...

Someone got sloppy after being told to work through their coffee break and missed by a spline or two?

Should be simple, lift the plastic cover at the base of the rear wiper to expose the nut holding it in place. Remove the nut, lift the rear wiper assembly off the splined shaft and replace it, clockwise or counter clockwise a spline or two, to a vertical alignment. Replace the nut and snap down the plastic cover.

I switched out the stock Bridgestone Turanzas...finally. The 2011 Gen III is my wife's car, so I don't drive it a whole lot. But when I do, I really notice the road noise inside the cabin. From what I've read, the Turanzas have a reputation for being loud and I've been counting down the days until we switched them out for something quieter.

We have the 17" wheels on our Prius and I decided to go with the Michelin Premier A/S. Prior to the switch, I gathered some basic cabin noise data on the roads I commonly drive. The cabin is, on average, about 5-7 db quieter than when I was running the Turanzas. The noise difference is noticeable. At first, I was a bit disappointed with the numbers, until I did some research and realized that 5-7 db is pretty significant. It's my understanding that a 10 db reduction would mean that the new tires are half as loud. While it's not quite a 10 db difference, I'm pleased with the new rubber.

If you're in the market for a quieter A/S and you feel like your cabin is pretty loud, I would recommend trying the Michelin Premiers.

Cool, thanks for the close up. I saw a bunch at sema last year but everyone I asked said their car was vinyl. I was really hoping to see plastidip out there. Most of the wraps are $2-3k and they didn't all look great but some did. If yours is even close to the quality and last like they say it does than it is a great value.

I hit 200 miles on my new Prius (just bought it Saturday!), and ordered a sharkfin and navcom sun shade hood thingy. Now I'm adding all kinds of stuff to my wishlist, I can already tell I'm going to love modding this car for years to come...

Stopped by Cusco/Winmax Headquarters to pick up another set of front and rear pads. They asked if they can take a couple of pics of the underbody to confirm that there braces were compatible for the Plug In Prius.

It was a pleasure to meet the Owner and the staff, they run a tight ship over there (y)(y)(y)

One more step away from the "Soccer Mom Mobile Syndrome" with the installation of 17" Drag DR-19 wheels and Yokohama YK580 215/45/17 tires.

Very nice..... But you won't be able to park like that if you lower it.
    Just saying. :)

After so many years of lifting patients in ICU I over tighten one of the lugs and snapped into two pieces Replace a broken stud bolt after swapping my CT200 wheels and getting ready for winter.
followed that link when i installed my tanabe lowering springs and it was much easier. Thank you priuschat.
