The Valenti lights have built-in load resistors to prevent hyperflashing so they'll work right out of the box, circumventing the need to install an aftermarket LED relay flasher to correct the hyperflashing.

You can buy a LED compatible flasher relay and replace the OEM one located under/behind your dashboard on the driver's side.

FYI, it's a real PITA to reach it and take out the original and insert the new one.

:) Working on installing the JDM style lighted side mirrors, Tuesday evening and yesterday evening. All I have left is to tap the wiring. Will finish up this weekend. Inexpensive mod with BIG results.

Thanks for this comment, I was about to purchase separate resistors for each bulb, but now I think I'll just buy the relay (only $9 on ebay!). I'm fairly thin, and hope i can get under the dash, we'll see. I do like the hyper flash.

You like it? The vast majority of us find it highly annoying.

Well, that's the reason I like it, it seems to be very noticeable to other drivers and they seem to give way. Here's my wish though, I wish it sounded and blinked normally in the car, while still being hyperflashing on the exterior lights.

There is a better mod than putting up with the annoying hyperflashing. Install a tap turn signal relay which allows you to tap the turn signal stalk once and give you a series of blinks (up to 6 I think). They're compatible with LED bulbs and a number of members have installed it. autowindow.com

I have it installed and it's awesome. It also makes the hazard flash programmable.

I like it too. But..... when I see them flashing like that, my first instinct is to figure out which bulb went out.

How easy is the install? Any step-by-step guides?

Finding and getting to the relay is tough. A lot of working one-handed. I posted a pic a few pages back showing the location of it.

Well, it may not even be compatible with the 2013 model Prius, at least according to Tapturn. Anyone can confirm otherwise?

Just because they haven't updated their website to include 2013 doesn't mean it's not compatible. The 2013 is the same as 2012 so yes, it's compatible.

This was the reply that I got from Tapturn:

"I think 2013 stops using a separate flasher and has it built into the dash console.
In other words, your flasher is not replaceable. I think.
If you spot an 8 pin removable flasher that looks like tapturn then... I'm wrong and YES tapturn would also be supported in 2013. Prius. Cheers -Scott"

So the question is, does the 2013 have an 8-pin removable flasher?

Sounds like they don't even know, but it's fishy as the 2013 in theory shouldn't be any different.

Can't you find out yourself as you have a 2013?

EDIT: PeterJMC recently transplanted the tapturn flasher from a 2010 to his new 2013 so I call BS on Tapturn's reply.

My led relay looks the same as Tapturn, also 8 pin.
    Works for my 2013.
