Visual Garage (the PC Shop one) makes a SR-compatible model so get that instead.

First off thanks to Sean (sfv41901) for all his help today with my suspension mods:

    1. Installed TRD Plus springs (and immediately regretted not waiting for coilovers)

    2. Installed Tanabe strut tower bar (and immediately realized it doesn't look nearly as clean as the Cusco STB)

    3. Installed Tanabe front under brace (also ordered a "rear" under brace from Amazon and got sent another front one - Tanabe TUB153F Sustec Rear Underbrace for 2010-2010 Toyota Prius:Amazon:Automotive)

    4. Installed iJDMtoy switchback LED for white (spliced with parking light) and amber (turn signal). Now that I am comfortable with removing the bumper cover, I want to install a DRL switch and have the white light to be on all the time, and possibly make my fogs yellow DRLs as well

And now I can sleep for four hours and go back to work after the long weekend haha

Are the turn signal LEDs and white LEDs visible in full direct sunlight though? In my experience, almost all LEDs don't have enough lumen output to be visible in direct sunlight.

Before I did my highbeam DRL mod, I was using my foglights as DRLs. The stock 55w halogens get very hot in the small foglight enclosures, especially when used during the warm daylight hours. What I did was modified some 35w H8 bulb bases so they would fit in the H11 foglight housing. All it takes is to grind down a bit off one of the three tabs to get it to fit. The light output from the H8 is good for DRL use and there was adequate light from them for use at night as well.

Edit: Also, from your video, it's pretty obvious you need to adjust the aim on your foglights downward. The foglights are throwing a lot of glare above the lowbeam cutoffs. That's why the lowbeams appear a lot dimmer than the foglights in your video, because the cutoffs are preventing glare from reaching the video camera lens the way they are supposed to. However, the foglights are throwing a lot of glare up into the camera lens, which is being held high.

hmm i never realized u needed to adjust the aim but it makes sense since i did wiggle them around when i reached my dirty arm into the wheel well to replace them. should i do this in front of a wall or my garage door? how do i aim them? also, you're right about the LEDs being useless in daylight, as they looked like Xmas lights when i snapped these pics just now, really cheesy

You can use the garage door. I had mine adjusted down to the max lowest position, because even at the lowest setting, they still throw up a lot of light above the lowbeam cutoffs.

There is a serrated adjustment wheel in the lower back of the foglight housing. When you turn the adjustment wheel, it moves the reflector inside the foglight. Sorry, I can't remember which way to turn the wheel to lower the aim. IIRC, you turn the adjustment wheel clockwise to lower the aim, but I might be wrong. You will find that there is no sharp cutoff line like you get with the lowbeams for the foglights, so just use the hotpots projected on your garage door to see whether you are adjusting in the right direction.

Edit: You have a beautiful Prius 5. :D I love the Prii in blue, pretty rare in my neck of the woods.

If you want LEDs, do it right and get full LED replacement taillights/corner lamps. One LED is never going to compare to many, highly directional LEDs that are spaced out for optimal visibility. Otherwise, get chrome-dipped signal bulbs that appear colorless but still flash amber to get rid of the fried egg look.

So someone in my area is selling 2013 Camry SE 17 inch rims. Does anyone know if these would fit the prius? Any thoughts on how this would look? I would prefer FRS wheels but cant find any at a decent price.

Yes, the bolt pattern is incompatible on my beloved Camry's wheels. :)

there are hub adaptors you can buy and install to let the prius take 5x114. if you are set on that pattern.

The Camry 17 inch wheels are pretty heavy, I'm quite certain. The FRS wheels look much lighter.

Clazzio's arrived yesterday. I ended up going with dark gray with light gray stitching. Swamped today, hopefully I can get around to starting the install on Wednesday.

There's an excellent video of someone from Clazzio installing their seat covers here:

FWIW- he installs a front and back set in 11+ min combined!

I believe the thinnest adapters are 20mm's, which will make the offset of almost any 5x114.3 wheel extremely low. Your wheels will be extremely poked out.

I re-did my badges with plasti-dip, black on the logo and anthracite on the background. Took the badges off to do this.

Looks awesome. Rest of my badges are black. with Black wheels, it looks awesome:)[IMG]
