We went to the dealership on 12-30, at the invitation of the internet mgr. to see what they had in stock. BP or BLK were the choices. It's hot in Louisiana, in the Summer, so we went with BP. Picked the car up 12-31 to get the tax credit. As a side, we had good luck speaking only with the internet/leasing mgr.
They didn't have much selection but wife told me ahead of time I had better come home with a white one. The BP as mentioned above is very nice in the sun, never saw a metalic white before but I must say I have been converted.
Spectra Blue -- it was right there on the lot it bedazzles in the sun it matches my font (there's a similar color for the '10's -- Metallic Blue?)
Since I wanted a light color for summer, my choices were white or silver. I chose silver -- that sounds boring but my first reason is that it shows dirt the least. Second is that the Gen III silver seems lighter and glossier than the Gen II, and most other silvers. Third is that I find it looks even better with the black sunroof than white.
The first 2010 Prius I test drove was a Blizzard Pearl. It was a beautiful color. I never thought I would like white, but Toyota really did it right! We just couldn't agree on a price, so I walked. He called me back just as I was signing the papers at the other dealership that had only Winter Gray's. Toyota makes the best gray that I have seen too.
I chose the Winter Gray because my 3-series BMW was almost the same color and always looked clean (even when dirty). I think this color is very upscale. I was wishing the Green color from GenII was available though!
I got mine in Blue Ribbon Metallic because the dealer couldn't get me a Black one. I'm actually glad I went for the blue now, it's looks great in the sun. It gets filthy easily but that's to be expected. Now I just wish I'd held out for one with a solar roof...
Metallic Blue. I went to the dealer looking for a Prius and he showed me a row of them and asked which one I wanted to drive. I chose the blue one because it stood out from the rest of the cars in the lot - it was very shiny and sparkled in the sun. Plus I've noticed there are some blue cars around, but none that are quite the same color as the Blue Ribbon Metallic.
I got winter gray. I like it stealth look. Also you don't see a lot of winter gray Prius out there. So far, I only saw one for the last two months since I bought the car
BP for the same reason as others: It gets scorching hot in central Texas. The red or blue was also acceptable, but fortunately a BP became available first. The extra $200 premium over other colors was irritating, but oh well.
choice between BP and Red but decided with the Red. BP will get dirty in midwest quite often. honestly, none of the colors really stood out - just had to choose the best of the available.
I bought the color that kinda blew my away seeing it on other Pri's on the freeway. It's also the color I feel comfortable with. I used a process of elimination - White, black, tan - never Sage Green, medium blue - alright, sometimes Silver and Gray - appealing, but I prefer 'color' Barcelona - nice, but not for me What's left? That's the one.
Silver, just like my previous Prius. I like silver because it doesn't look dirty even when its dirty! But will say that it doesn't look all that shiny even when its shiny. Not like black.
Barcelona Red. Because that's the color the dealer had in when he called to tell me he had one with my desired features. I rushed over after work and did the deal. And I actually have come to like that bright, strong red. My 2005 is a Salsa Red Pearl, which I enjoyed, but I'm starting to like the boldness of the Barcelona a little better. Zeke's wife is right: it does stand out in a parking lot. Easy to find the parked car.
Has anyone else noticed the difference in the Gen III silver, compared to Gen II? The color tone appears lighter or whiter or, in other words, less gray and shinier.
Blue. My previous car was bought for practical reasons and was a sandy color. I didn't like it at all ( although it did always look clean) When I got my prius last fall, I was unsure between red and blue and when I saw the blue, just fell in love. I waited an extra few weeks to have the blue one, passing on both red and blizzard pearl cars. Choose the one that makes you smile!
