I used to drive a 06 Saturn Ion Redline Competition. Somehow I got an idea to rent a Prius. 20k or so miles and 3 years of driving rental Prii and now I own one. Of course Justin convinced me that Prius was so awesome and I shouldn't consider anything else Mike Mobile on my SGH-i717
Corolla. Now my kids drive it. One thing I can tell you for sure, Prius is not Hybrid Corolla like some people say. Much better car.
Sold a '99 Mercury Mountaineer (V6) that was sitting in the garage not being used. The Prius keeps the miles and weather off of my '97 BMW 328i that I've kept.
04 4runner. Loved it but i couldn't take the 15mpg anymore. I still have a 400+ hp Corvette in the garage for the nice weekends and trips to the track though. Won't be givin that up anytime soon.
My previous car was an 01 Camry Solara V6 Convertible, loved that car, but not the 19 mpg average. Kept it for 10 months after I got my Prius, finally sold it (sellers remorse=wish I still had it for sunny warm days).
09 Jetta TDI Sportwagon. Loved it. Hated the higher cost of diesel. More maintenance and the thought of losing the fuel pump and then 8,000 to repair it. Love the new car.
New to Prius, nine weeks. Still have my 2011 Lexus IS F-Sport. It's a lease which is up in mid December. Haven't decided whether to turn it in or purchase it. My wife says she wants it? Had a 2005 Mercedes SLK 55 ///AMG and sold it two years ago. Both great cars, . I've never regretted selling a car. I love my Prius. Just seems like the right car for this time in my life.
A Chevy Crew Cab 4x4 Duramax, moved city's and jobs and got a Prius. I love it at the pump but I do miss my truck regularly. I also have a 2010 chevy Malibu and mine is not a POS.
My 2010 Prius replaced a 1986 Honda Accord Hatchback, of which I was the original owner. I still have a late 90's Subaru wagon.
Civic Si, Toyota Supra, Lancer Evolution, 370Z all Ricer builds My Prius is my first grownup car, I'm getting a little too old for ricers and grownup sport cars are over my price range for now. Hopefully I will have enough will power to stop modding my Prius into a ricer
2001 C230. It was a fun car, a great car (handling, comfortable) had it for 10+ years. In the end though maintenance cost is getting way high if I'm about to keep the car. Reading this posts I thought I had it bad w/ about 20-23mpg but lordy, didn't realized other cars are only getting less than 20MPG. Love my Prius, some adjustment but no biggie.
'09 Toyota RAV4 4WD, V-6. We still have it--now my husband drives it. We replaced a '94 Chrysler LHS. DH says he won't be caught dead driving a Prius, which is fine with me. I wouldn't want him to try driving it--too many distractions for him.
Tell him to keep an eye/ear out for torque converter (transmission) failure in the Rav4. Our 2006 started to have this issue. Research on the Rav4 forum showed this to be a common enough problem to warrant attention. You're looking at $4,000+ to replace the unit/trans.
I came from a 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE (gold/champagne color) *vrooom vrooom* right before my 1st Prius - 2005 Toyota Prius (Seaside Blue) w/ Option 2. Was a big change at the time - 6cyl 190hp 0-60mph in 6.7s to a 4cyl 105/110hp 0-60 in 9.xs... *lol* But shrug - It suits my purposes and I can still have fun in the Prius. AND my wife still complains I drive the Prius too ... spiritedly *lol*
I came from a Chevy Cobalt, hated it, I was glad when all the warning lights lit up so I could get something else. I love the Prius, never thought I would own a hybrid, but it is an awesome car.
