.is synth oil required for gen3 prius?
.is it confirmed that oil change should be done at 10k, or is it still 5k?
.can oil change be done at independent shops for cheaper price(or jiffylube/pepboy/etc), or should be done only at toyota dealer?

k for mine was about $30 as the "oil change" was free (first three are if you buy the car there @ Avondale Toyota). Otherwise it was $83.something for 0W-20.

My 5K service today at Daytona Toyota in Daytona Beach, FL for a Gen III Model II was $22.76 total with OW20 motor oil. It would have been $71.25 plus tax without the dealer's Lifetime Oil Change "Club."
