That is a pretty good dive into the archives. I have Sirius XM in our Prime and have been listening to the Lithium and Turbo channels. Good music to rock out to while sitting in traffic. And it was established when this thread was last active.
Hober Not listening exactly now, but post to recognize their efforts. Something like an inverse of NPR tiny desk concerts.
Let me check my phone (*) 2 Podcasts (Planet Money / FiveThirtyEight Politics) Shortest Way Home by Mayor Pete. I use canned music for workout - mostly 80's rock. (next 2 tracks are AC/DC's Thunderstruck and Golden Earring's Twilight Zone) (*) I'm somewhat hobbled in audio at present because I'm having a dalliance with a refurbished iPhone 6s and my beloved LG Stylo 4 is in early retirement. I blame myself. If I had been a better parent then my progeny would use Droids, and if Apple were not evil b*sds then their watches and FT app would work cross platform.
if Apple were not evil b*sds That seems a lot to wish for - is your magic wishing lamp still pretty full?
Right now: It was one of my dad's favorite recordings (no, he was never in prison). Lot of backstory on that performance. Need something to perk me up, been dealing with insurance companies/medical providers all morning. Going into work at noon will actually be relaxing compared to my morning. kris
i was never a dead head. it was my era, but i missed it somehow. maybe not enough radio play? love apple. evil? its a corp like toyota, samsung, et al. they're in business to make money
We recently bought a new car and it came with a trial for Sirus XM- The Grateful Deal station was one of my first presets. Usually as a concession to my age I listen to SPA channel which is instrumental relaxing music until my kids demand I change the station or turn the radio off.
Dad also listened to old and in the way -- of course they were tight with the Dead. He talked a bit about it, apparently he did spend some "amount of time," traveling with the whole circus." Bisco, don't know how you let history pass you by. You should have been at all the Dead concerts, joining the action. I think I am glad I actually missed that era. I think I might have matured quickly and it may have helped me, or I still might be living on a commune in Oregon (which actually does not sound that bad at the moment). Anyway, some great bluegrass came out of that era -- "Last Lonely Eagle" being one of them. Dad loved to quote Hunter Thompson from the 1960's. So much I can repeat it without thinking -- actually it does make me think. There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning.…we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave.… Look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back. Sorry, sometimes I get a bit sentimental. If nothing else, Dad showed us that we all had potential and that girl or boy, we could DO or BE what we wanted to be -- sorta -- LOL kris
Fear Inoculum - Tool New studio release after thirteen years. I'll be upgrading the sound system soon, just for this release.
Right now: Political Gabfest podcast and debate wrap-ups. Thanks to the Overcast App and VLC I have about 85-percent of the capability on my iPhone as I did on my Droid. Up Next: Maybe I'll try to dig back into Mayor Pete's book.

They had some Tool playing on SiriusXM Turbo as I was pulling into the driveway. Had to believe new material is coming out. Can’t wait to hear it on Octane.
