I am listening to a speech by Dick (can we use that word?) Cheney where he explains that it actually costs over $5 a gallon to produce gasoline but the oil companies have been keeping the prices low to help the economy. I'm glad I live in a country where oil companies protect me from artificially high fuel prices we see in other countries.
