If I'm at the PriusChat home page, the "Forums" Tab has a down arrow to it's right. If I mouse-over it, options appear, one being "What's New".

I believe this works the same as similar function on the old site. Only problem, this down arrow only shows at the home page. Anywhere else on the site it's gone.

(There's obviously also the "What's New" Tab, but it doesn't seem to work, at least not the way it did on the old site: threads continue to show even after I've read them.)

 

Yup, year/model should be added to that pop up.

 

Correction--this feature does exist in the new format.

I was looking for an icon, like before. Instead, under the far right column (which I just noticed is entitled "Last Message" ) to the right of each thread, is the user name associated with the last post, and under it, the date/time of the last post, which is a hyperlink to the last post in the thread.

 

I was referring to the last page number once you were on the topic. You can jump to the last page and the last messages (most recent). Two clicks vs. the one click you were looking for.

A top level, front page button the jumps to the last message in an unread topic is very specialized. Most people would want to start with the first message in an unread topic...to see what was the topic.

 

I noticed that when you click on an unread tread look at it and go back to the what's new page the thread you clicked does not change color like it used to.

If you read it, the thread should not show up at all on the "What's New" list. The blue button for "First Unread by You" that shows to the left of each forum on the "What's New" list should also be gone as visual cue.

With 800+ posts, 128 likes and three years of membership, I went from a senior to a new member. What am I missing?

Kind of slow, but I finally figured it out.

 

Thanks Danny- I think for me it just takes a little getting used to the New, because too familiar with the old system. . . You have worked very hard to get things together on this new site- it really does look great- and eventually I will learn to navigate through the new site

EXCEPT the avatar which needs to be rectangular to show off cars.

 

I'm not sure if this has been reported, but I stumbled across broken images at Salvage Traction Battery | PriusChat. Not sure if this is universal or not.

 

I don't know if this has been posted by the font sizes of message lists (like at Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News | PriusChat) are really random only when viewed on my iPhone (4 running iOS 5.1.1).

Looks fine on w/Firefox 12.0 and Safari 5.1.7 on Win 7. I wouldn't be surprised if it's some sort of algorithm the mobile version of Safari has to get pages to fit/be readable on devices w/small screens.

I can post a screenshot, if needed.

Another feature I miss (again sorry if it's already mentioned) is the "Jump to forum" drop-down menu at the bottom of the web page.

Also in the list of threads (in a forum page) there used to be an icon showing which threads are subscribed. I don't see it anymore.

Overall I like the new functionality. One thing lacking is a way to delete one's own post. Sometimes an edit is not what is wanted. I want to be able to completely remove my post at times, no questions asked. Even Yahoo Groups lets you do that.

 

Rather than reading back through the 200+ posts I am going to take a chance and ask a question that may already have been answered

What is the best way to get a picture uploaded to the Avatar? I keep cropping different pictures smaller and smaller but keep getting the message that the picture must be less than 19.6 kb. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

That's very strange. Since the avatar dimensions changed to a square I had to upload a new one since my old rectangular one was getting cropped. The pic I used was 291 kb.
