Nice wings, Dragonfly. Do you fly a lot? I am assuming you have a high mpg because you can fly on short trips and doesn't have to drive.

Yeah, I got silver wings AND gold wings. I flew the Scooter for about a year or two back in the Naval Reserve at Los Alamitos. I went from the B-52 (Air Force) to the A-4 (Navy)! Some transition! I never quite knew what the hell I was doing, or when to salute, but I had a lot of fun scaring myself to death on a regular basis. The "funny" thing is that a bunch of our real Navy guys, who were very well trained in comparison to myself, augured in during my A-4 days there and I made it out alive.

Sometimes its better to be lucky than smart....

Flying should get you there faster without having to stop for all those traffic.

 

I figured the best thing to do was to hire a Jockey to drive the car. He only weighs 87 pounds so it keeps the weight to a minimum. Of course he's not allowed to do any errands in the car, Grocery Shopping would probably add 20 lbs and that could cost a mile or two. And I can't ride in the car at all.

After a week of this, I noticed that the Jockey (we'll call him Jock) was only getting 37.5 miles to a gallon. He absolutely refuses to use Pulse and Glide and says that do do anything other than drive all out is an insult to his manhood. Fortunately he quit on me saying that he would drive nothing but a Mustang or some other Muscle Car (I wonder what having to drive a muscle car says about his manhood).

So, I'm back to driving myself, my family, my groceries, etc. I'm sure I'm a few miles off of Optimal, but it's more fun driving it myself, than leaving the driving to Jock.

On the contrary: not driving at all gets you infinite mpg, since you are burning no gas at all to go whatever distance you walk or bicycle.
