should folks be equally disinclined to put much stock in someone's report that may very well have an agenda?
iduno - just wondering .... both sides seem to be armed with contradicting ammunition.

Last time I drove around London though, I didn't see any chimneys. But maybe I missed all / it ... a chimney .... presuming there actually was a chimney or two, they must be mighty smog powerful.

I have never been to London, so I can't speak from personal experience. Clean Air for London is an environmental activist group, so I doubt it has any agenda as far as promoting diesel is concerned.

Trucks can legally pollute through the glider loophole. @1953

There is a regulatory limit of 300 gliders per year but EPA Scott Pruitt declared that would not be enforced. At least through 2019.

On his last day in office

I think the 300 cap was the attempt to close the past loophole.

The courts may have halted Pruitt's declaration.

    "courts may have halted"

What have you seen? It would be an interesting case WRT identifying a harmed person (etc.) who has standing to file suit.

Don't they need some 'primates' to study the effect of breathing diesel exhaust?

I do not doubt that @1977 was in jest. But if I may :)

Mammalian lungs are very similar in structure and function (did not say size). As such, research would probably be done on dogs because they are much cheaper to 'operate' than primates and with less regulatory oversight. Reg ovsght for humans is a nightmare*

Cardiac surgeons practice extensively on dogs (beagles among them it seems) before moving on to paying customers.

*But perhaps not for prison operators. Not sure how that has been going recently.

VW actually did use primates for research of diesel emissions, or had definite plans to do so.
