For me, that is good news about the symbols allowed.

I have been in the habit of entering numbers without parens, but with hyphens. The Caller ID displays them this way (usually, depending on your setup), and no one mistakes a parenthesis for a hastily scrawled numeral.

Now that I have looked at this thread title again, I should state that my Prius is from very late in the 2004 model year. Several of my car's features have more in common with a 2005 than a 2004.

My 650 replacement from Verizon is on its way and I will try to take notes on what I did when I set it up.

Sorry, double post because my first one was OK even though the board crashed as I clicked Submit.

Thank you for your posts! Forget Toyota or Verizon helping me they were useless. After diaiing from the phone "Eureka!" it's connected! But, I'm can't transfer my contacts from the Treo 650 to the Prius phone book as others seem to have accomplished. After I go to the "settings" and "Phone Book - Start Transfer" on the Prius I get a prompt to "Start Transfer from the Phone". I cannot figure out how to start the phone transfer. How do I start transfer from the phone?

The Treo 650 from Verizon is working for me. I just activated the phone yesterday and paired it with the Prius today. My notes will follow in a few days.

To answer the question above, the Prius is waiting for you to go to the Contacts section of the phone, select one person, and from the menus choose Beam Entry. One phone number for that one person will be installed in your Phone Book.

Now I'm wrestling with the fact that the Prius chose the Pager number for the person I picked (me) as a test phone number. So I deleted the entire Phone Book - all one entries of it. But I will have to read a bit before I can create a new usable Phone Book in the Prius. Despite that, I was able to make a One-Touch dial from scratch so I can call home (no hyphens).

More later. The sound quality both ways was impressive.

Can you tell me the version number of the Bluetooth Manager your Treo 650 is running? (The version is accessable via the Bluetooth app icon, then the hard menu botton, menu option "About Bluetooth Manager".) The option to allow wakeup is missing from my menu, even after I updated using the Treo 650 updater (to ROM version 1.04).

The first call goes through fine. But any subsequent attempt to make calls via the car nav console fails because it can't find the phone.

    Thanx in advance -

    -Darren-

I have not done the Verizon updater to 1.04. I still have 1.03.

The version of Bluetooth Manager is 1.0 (W) copyright 2004. Hope this helps.

Thanks to this forum, I have successfully paired my verizon Treo 650 with Toyota.

The problem I have now is that the paring only lasts ~30 seconds. I've read others having the same problem but I didn't read or missed the solution, if any. Does anybody have a solution to this problem?
