El Dobro on the 1500W model you bought at Home Depot, do you think the next model down at 1000W is as good?

    100 watts? Surely that's a typo.

Would this work in reverse where power can be tapped?

anytime you go from gas to battery there is a loss of efficiency. So a prius goes from gas to battery to inverter to your house. Generator goes straight from gas to your house. Realistically everybody has different price ranges and different 'emergency' prep need

The smaller 1-2 kw Honda inverter gensets are as efficient as a Prius (which can output 3 kw). Roughly 0.1-0.2 gallons per hour on average. A regular genset is nowhere as efficient, a gallon or two or more if you are talking the big guys.

By your numbers, the Honda generators are about 30% efficient, while hte Prius averages about 36%. Pretty darn good, but not Prius like ;)

I guess yes, while the connections on the proper ends match and NOT in the way the are right now form the manufacturer plant.
Now, the pilot signal will have to be modified in order to have the proper handshake, but certainly will work.

This is the connector that Toyota will use for power. That's what made me wonder if it was just a change of wiring to tap the car for power or if was an actual change of components in the car.

Man, where you got that picture from? certainly will be another tech information that can be disseminated from it.
Might it be from a prototype vehicle?
Also, the interconnect wire is very thin..............

Until someone puts it in a box and ships it then it's for the US market.

What good is a 100V 50Hz power source going to do in the U.S. or Canada? And that is assuming that the interface to the J1772 socket on the U.S. version of the PiP even supports this (either the control logic or the hardware).
