using additive to the trans fluid

    wasn't that the first iteration of the prius they burned stators with toyota WS in them I have always changed the WS for a decent synthetic my first prius my son is still driving with 370,000 miles on it. I change when I get the car and then every 60,000 miles. I have spoken to cab drivers that have done over 300,000 with redline or hyperdrive in theirs just don't chance any cheap dino oil in it

    Use what you want, but any alternative to Toyota ATF WS is roundly discouraged by Toyota.

    Did you notice last input to this thread was ‘08? ;)

    14 years on Redline D6 in trans still running perfect.

    Redline D6 in Trans
    Redline 5-30 in engine basically a 40 weight with zddp (Does not eat a drop of oil between changes at 165,000 miles)
    Redline water wetter in Inverter fluid.
