The formulas for the acid and base trends as described on excel are:
y'=0.0004x-0.585
y"=-0.0001x+4.8441
The intersection where y'=y" is 10,858.2 miles.

That is where the acid surpassed the base number and where I will change my oil.

Please read the very third paragraph...the statement by Blackstone read, "Copper, lead, and silicon were the only unusual findings in this sample because you had used an oil additive in the past. Copper and lead are typically bearing materials, so if no additives were used, you may have had a problem."

Yes I have used an oil additive in the past. Thanks for your concern.
