20% discount - now that would have been worthwhile! LOL

Anyway - what better way to celebrate the 100th post on this thread by announcing that the Toyota GB website has the new Prius as the main model, with all the details on specs etc fully listed.

    Roll on August 1st :)

If you navigate to http://www.toyota.co.uk and select Prius from the main menu it now comes up with the Gen 3 as the default model. It also plays a little video etc and has links up for the Blog. Not a huge change granted.

I'd have thought that the Reviews section would link to more of them, I think the car has been well received by the UK press.

Dropping leather trim on the T3's steering wheel is a bit poor. I'd rather have that than an ashtray and lighter! I'm really stunned that the lighter is standard on all models - what other car comes with a ligher as standard these days?

Toyota GB are still saying on their site that the HDD music box is optional but I thought it was part of the HDD nav pack?

Attached screenshot highlights areas that have changed.

"Equipment" is the big one as it now lists every minute detail of what is and isn't included on each model.

Maybe you need to give your web browser a big [CTRL]+[F5] ;)

The site is not consistent - part of it is still from the original before they locked down the UK specs. Its annoying that all the gallery is still showing the Euro spec car with LED lights for example. The UK press pack with professional pictures of a UK spec car has been out for over a week - how difficult is it to update the site?

This is the equipment list from the Press Site: http://www.toyotagb-press.co.uk/protected/vehicles/current/press_packs/prius/equip_list.pdf

It clearly shows the T-Spirit as having this combination:

Navigation Pack, including HDD-based navigation, HDD music library, Bluetooth, rear parking monitor and Intelligent Park Assist

I have to agree - the site can be confusing at the moment, but the inconsistencies are not just limited to the Prius pages - it's a site wide thing.

I used the "Contact Us" form on the site to highlight some of these issues last week, later that day I got an email saying that my message could not be delivered as the address did not exist!

At that point I gave up! LOL

    It's still listed under T3 and T-Spirit.

    Mike,
Don't mean to rub it in... The only test drive I took was in a Model III - basic U.S. version with the plastic steering wheel. and didn't like the feel. I have the V with leather. The wheel feels very nice to the touch and very comfortable. Is it not an option in the UK?

And as you may know - the ashtray or lighter is not standard here in the U.S. Matter of fact, I sold my Lexus RX the day after picking up my Prius. I use a GPS and the 12V lighter socket was relegated for that. The new owners asked if I had the lighter to fill the socket, and I could not find it anywhere. I gave them $5 off the price to buy one....

Bet you blokes are very excited, as we in the U.S. were a month ago...

    Cheers, Dean

I ordered my TSpirit today, and was really flexible about the colour, giving three options I'd be happy with. Expected to hear I'd get the car early in August, but was told it was unlikely I'd get it before September. Apparently several colours, including the red aren't actually going to be available in the UK from launch.

This is because the cars for the 1st August launch are built and well on there way. So Toyota GB will have specified a number of initial customer cars following the colours that sell in the UK - namely black, grey, silver and the new fad of pearl white. If you order a car which is built to order it will probably take 8 to 9 weeks to delivery, assuming no waiting list.

I ordered silver and I hope to get an early car, but who knows? My dealer has 15 pre-orders and I'm sure not all 15 of us will be picking our cars up on the 1st August.

It will take longer. I ordered my car a month ago, delivery will be somewhere in September.

I am surprised at the number of people who want to have their cars in August when there is a new registration change just weeks afterwards.

I guess it's all personal preference & there is obviously the buzz of having one of the 1st on the road in the UK, but for me I am going to wait until March 1st to have mine.

I am so looking forward to getting into a Prius, but by getting it in March I will have a 2010 year car on a 10 plate. I have always been one for changing my cars in March.

Wishing you all the best for 1st August.... I will probably be regretting my decision when I see them on the road :)

I strongly suspect my car will be on a 59 plate.....

    Hi to everyone, (first post).

Looks like the UK marketing people have had a brainstorming session. The Abyss Grey exterior colour, the local dealer has informed me, shall henceforward be known as Novus Grey. The paint number remains the same. Does anyone have a view on how the Gen III Grey differs from the Gen II Decuma Grey? Novus Grey looks good on the Viewpoint system, but metallics are difficult to compare, (unless side by side in daylight).

Ordered a Grey T3, second week in June (List price plus metallic less UK Scrappage Allowance :)) - no info on delivery expected until mid July or so. Hope it comes soon - I’ve got an MoT and Tax due 1st September on a 15 year old Subaru!.

This becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy though - these are the colours that sell well because that's often all that's available on the forecourt. It might be different if we had free choice of colours. I prefer to have a colour, rather than a shade of grey. It's bad enough that the only options are single shades of red or blue, but to then say 'but you can't actually have those' is ridiculous.

The 'Build Your Prius' page is now up. It currently only offers White Pearl (= Blizzard Pearl, I think), Tyrol Silver, Pure White, Vermilion Red, and Astral Black. That's two solid monochrome tones, two silver-ish, and one actual colour.

The T3 does not permit any options, other than metallic paint. T4 can be ordered with a £340 Style Pack - chrome additions on the rear, side sills and fog light surrounds - and/or with a £350 Protection Pack - rear parking sensors and a boot liner.

The T Spirit also lists the same options, plus the £1,450 Solar Roof. No leather interior at this stage.

Seems a little odd that on the T Spirit you get the rear camera AND the rear parking sensors if you order the protection pack.

I agree with Mike regarding colour choices, the current options are pretty pathetic.
