I see the pics in your album , still couldn't get that image you posted here and that image url to work. It just takes me to all the PRius albums.

Btw, the difference of the gap also has to do with the wheels offset correct ?

The gap is determined by the diameter of the tire and how far you lower the car. The wheel offset really doesn't make a difference except maybe illuminate the gap by showing more tire or more fender. Think of the offset as how far the wheel sticks out of the wheel (lower number offset like +35) well or how far it tucks back inside the wheel well (higher number offset like +50). If you want to reduce the gap then lower the car as much as you are comfortable with. Coil overs are a fantastic choice since they are adjustable. Then use a larger diameter tire like a 205/50/17 instead of the common 215/45/17. The former is actually closer to the stock 15" tire diameter than the 215/45/17 is. I still don't understand why Toyota did that unless they are trying to trick the EPA rating by using a smaller diameter tire. The taller tire will raise the car back up a tiny bit and provide more ground clearance which is nice when you have a body kit.

I went with the TRD springs, haven't installed it yet, and if I went with the 17's Prius plus forged wheels or the 17' five axis wheels, will it look good ?

I know the five axis wheels went with the Tein springs, but I read in another thread that it drops pretty low and that it is not good for clearing bumps.

 

Of course it will look good. Your car is going to be sweeter than it already is! The Prius Plus wheels have a slightly more aggressive offset than the Prius Five wheels so it should look similar to the photo I linked you to. Those Centerline wheels were 17x7 and had a +42mm offset. Personally I think the 215/45/17s have too thin of a sidewall for the Prius so I generally recommend the 205/50/17 but the choice is yours. Either tire will work.

Now I can't decide whether to get the 17' forged prius plus wheels or the 17's five axis gunmetal wheels.

Get those springs installed!!!!!

 

My opinion is to go with the forged PLUS rims. Personally I think they look a little cleaner... the Five Axis rims have too many lug holes. A bit distracting. Just my personal taste.

both Toyota dealerships, one locally, and one in the states just over the border in Bellingham, Washington

Front springs: 2.5-3.5hr, $250-350
Rear springs: 4.0-4.5hr, $400-450
Labor would be $855
prices sound nuts to me, and I don't think it takes 6.5-8 hours to install springs ?

 

too bad youre not in socal. the famous tommy quoted me something. if i remember correctly, it was below $200.

 

I can do it for $150

 

Considering all that has to be removed on the front.....u would think the labor would be more which leads me to believe that ur quotes are nothing but BS
