I have two dogs, one is medium tall 50lbs and the other is tall and 70lbs. Seats up: Most of the time I drive with the seats up, it is more comfortable for the dogs, lots more head room, especially for the greyhound. I bought a water repellant bench seat cover from Big Lots for about $20 that hooks over the head rests and then I cover that with a king sized sheet (for hair collection). Seats down: For when we go to the beach and the dogs are wet I bought an absorbant mat from PEP Boys, it's for a garage floor and absorbs a lot of liquid, it was about $10 and it fits the back end very well. I cut a slit in it so that I can leave one seat up and one down. I leave it folded in half in the hatchback all the time time has caught spills from grocercery bags.
