As another test of the traction control, I can pull off the highway so one side is on pavement and the other side is on gravel. If I hit the gas, I can feel/hear the brake being modulated on the rear wheel that is beginning to spin. When the brake applies it's pretty noisy, I'd guess the pump/accumulator system more than the actual brake as they've never made noise.
